Very nice of you to help people out like you are, and it’s wonderful that you love your home state as you do. Thanks for doing what you’re doing! I’m from Pennsylvania and i have no desire to live in the cold and snow the Montana offers, but if i had to relocate to Montana I’d be really appreciative of your advice and helpfulness. Awesome job!

Good video. Another thing to note when making a winter car trip (even just to Costco) is to check the weather forecast. Once in a while it will be bright and sunny when you go into Costco, and 8" snow on the ground when you come back out! The weather forecast is generally very accurate.

Thanks for this. I live in Scotland now, but I grew up in Bozeman and Helena. As I remember it, the only days we had off during the winter were the days the buses wouldn't start. This was in the late 60's and early 70's mind you. Funny that you didn't mention a favorite winter sport for the guys at Wilson Middle School and Bozeman Jr High: hookie-bobbing.

Boy I miss Montana! I moved to Butte from NE Ohio in late 1973. Arrived on the 28th of December. We immiediately had a 2 week cold snap where temps went down to between 35 and 40 below almost every night. I was wondering what I'd gotten into! For me the hardest thing to get used to was the indoor dryness. My skin and nasal passages were so dry it was very bothersome. But after a while my body started producing more moisture and oil and I felt fine. Some of the sparks that would jump off my fingertips as I reached for a metal doorknob, for instance, looked like they came out of Dr. Frankenstein"s lab. It was quite a jolt! The best thing about Montana, IMO, is (was?) the culture. It's just so easy to get along there. I always had this sense of belonging, this "we're in this together, we're family" feeling. My brother said it best: "Sometimes I wonder if that place really exists!"😄

@@lunistylz322so far this year, you’re right! But I don’t think it’s going to stay that way all season, and if it does, it won’t be the same next year. If there’s one thing I’ve learned living here is that each year can vary too! Last year was sooo snowy and frigid!

I’m in kalispell and it’s a dark cloudy long winter with inversions. Low clouds and virtually no sun for weeks and weeks. My dr told me she starts prescribing antidepressants in October to help her patients deal with the gloom. Heads up!

The cold weather is fine. How hard does the wind blow there? That's what makes it so cold! 10 to 15 miles per hour at 31 degrees will make it a lot colder!

Very true! Different areas have different levels of wind. There are times in Bozeman it gets well beyond 15 mph in gusts, but it’s not as common. Livingston on the other hand is known for the wind and it can be brutal!
