The Survival Russia Channel is about "The Reality Of Survival". I live on a Homestead in far away Russian wild nature. Here is no room for "TV" Survival.
Only Reality counts here. Survival Russia promotes the philosophy of always carrying equipment and never to be parted from equipment which will affect chances of Survival.
So did the old timers and pioneers of both the East and the West.

I'm struggling to watch other "bushcraft" channels now...they just don't cut the mustard when compared with Survival Russia. Too much commercial motivation or self indulgence. Survival Russia is just honest, down to earth everyday living and working in the bush. In just the same way as many old school hunters and woodsman still operate in remote areas today. Thank goodness there are still people who are prepared to share their knowledge and skills with the uninitiated...Best channel by far! :)

Good stuff Lars. In the US Army, we called those tents a shelter half. I don’t remember even having a ground mat to put my sleeping bag on. I just remember laying on the frozen ground in Oklahoma.

The Pink Ninja looks awesome in her new camo suit. She is so cute showing it off. I have been thinking (it happens occasionally)... that I would really like to see a Mrs. Survival Russia KZread channel, where she is showing us her tips and trix from rural and urban Russia. Anything that she likes to share - from old things to new things, from growing food to making food, gardening, funny things the kids and dogs are doing, clothes, telling old russian stories about how they survived during tough times, things you can buy in Russia that she likes, and so on. Those are just a few suggestions. Can you ask her if she will be up for that, Lars? I think that would be AWESOME.

I like the rubber coated shock cord in that pole. Apparently soldier proof until the average squad get their hands on it. Honestly, if you want something tested to destruction, there is no better method than giving it to the military. Just ask Norman the store man, he has the paperwork in triplicate.

That was my kind of Christmas in a box...started with the itch the minute I spotted those saws lol. I could see the overwhelming desire to start cutting stuff immediately. Can't wait to see the tent halves in action. Funny I bought some really good ones from uk surplus store via eBay. I could see on the pictures that they had a "head slot" in them, but asked the seller if they could be used like poncho...he was actually quite rude and basically told me "not to be silly" its a tent. Well Mr surplus guy, I can tell you is that my tent makes an awesome poncho...all thanks to Survival Russia! (In fact I bought 4 halves in the end and use them for all sorts) Great video :)

I was in the army and each of us carried half of a tent shelter half and the poles for that half and you and another Soldier was supposed to put your hands together to make a tent... When I went to the field I had purchased me a second shelter half with the poles so if I had to I just have a lot of room for my gear... You take it to the shelter haves and needs or brush on them packed snow around that and you have a nice warm sleep... later I joined the submarine Force and I slept on a hammock in the Torpedo Room...

Santa Claus came early! Good to see you smiling rather than being frustrated with the latest Automobile setback. Couple of things. I too have the French Tent. You should tape all the seams, and some of the pegs may be a little weak for Russian Winter Soil. I have also see a Video where a guy took some Spray Adhesive and a cheap Space Blanket and used it to line the interior roof. Said it wasn't easy, but it did make the Tent warmer and a lot more easier to see inside. But keep in mind, it is NOT a Winter Tent. And I'd still rig a separate Tarp over the Camp Site, since the Tent does not have a separate Rain Fly. As to Dave's Coal Bed, well, he lives a couple of hours south of me, and I have taken his Basic Survival Course. Let's just say that it seldom gets to -30C in Ohio, and some of what he teaches would be just fine if I was stuck in 1820 Colorado and all I had was the Tools and Technology of that Time Period. But since I live in the 21st Century and I have Ferro Rods and Silky Saws, well, I think you know more about how to spend a Winter Night Outside. And the Pink Ninja is so CUTE! Enjoy your Gear!

One way to get around the drive rods slapping against the shock absorbers is to (also) put in another set of extender plates, on the base plate for the shock absorber. This would be a 1 1/2 - 2 inch chunk of metal firmly bolted into the base plate near the drive rod (that wouldn't snap off in heavy duty operations). Then bolt the shock to the extender. This would push the shocks further away from the drive rods. The camber (diagonal) would be more vetical, and also push the rig up a little higher in height. This makes the shocks more vertical, than their diagonal position, and more shock absorbing in the vertical, than wearing out the shocks trying to absorb impact energies in the diagonal and wearing out the shock.

Great stuff, just found your channel, I from US, retired INF, love the view on EU, stuff very good quality, I would keep a watch on pink ninja she looks like she will quickly take you out and take over the channel! Love it from northern MAN, closest thing you would get in US to home! Already have 12+ for deer hunting!

I thought I heard somewhere the smell comes from a spray called MRT (mildew resistant treatment ) I have always loved that smell , my dad was a 20 year veteran ,so I was introduced to the smell as a kid . It's a classic smell for sure .

I can say that the canvas is not as heavy as the Austrian and Russian ones. That's not bad at all :)
