The Survival Russia Channel is about "The Reality Of Survival". I live on a Homestead in far away Russian wild nature. Here is no room for "TV" Survival.
Only Reality counts here. Survival Russia promotes the philosophy of always carrying equipment and never to be parted from equipment which will affect chances of Survival.
So did the old timers and pioneers of both the East and the West.
Get Out and Train and Get it Done!

I'm struggling to watch other "bushcraft" channels now...they just don't cut the mustard when compared with Survival Russia. Too much commercial motivation or self indulgence. Survival Russia is just honest, down to earth everyday living and working in the bush. In just the same way as many old school hunters and woodsman still operate in remote areas today. Thank goodness there are still people who are prepared to share their knowledge and skills with the uninitiated...Best channel by far! :)

I just read your comment just now and am amazed because I thought I was the only person who used the term "cut the mustard"
I love my BIGBOY 2000! I actually bought that saw because of this channel, and now i will not go into the woods without it.
Good stuff Lars. In the US Army, we called those tents a shelter half. I don’t remember even having a ground mat to put my sleeping bag on. I just remember laying on the frozen ground in Oklahoma.
always proud of hungarian stuff :) Greetings from Hungary!
Lars. Really looking forward to the future videos, your plate is full for sure , you will never run out of subjects. Glad to be involved.
YES. YES. YES. Gotta love the 2K. It's gotta be the best all around outdoor saw there is.
That Silky Bog Boy 2000 with Extra Large teeth is the one I carry in my go bag every single day. It is an AWESOME saw.
I'm happy to know I'm not the only one that likes the smell of army surplus! I have a French tent, its Awsome!!
The Pink Ninja looks awesome in her new camo suit. She is so cute showing it off. I have been thinking (it happens occasionally)... that I would really like to see a Mrs. Survival Russia KZread channel, where she is showing us her tips and trix from rural and urban Russia. Anything that she likes to share - from old things to new things, from growing food to making food, gardening, funny things the kids and dogs are doing, clothes, telling old russian stories about how they survived during tough times, things you can buy in Russia that she likes, and so on. Those are just a few suggestions. Can you ask her if she will be up for that, Lars? I think that would be AWESOME.

I will ask her if she is interested, but most importantly, if she has the time :) No problem.
When you kept saying "this box should be silky stuff" my initial thought was " hello!! Have I clicked on the wrong channel???!!!" 😂😂😂😂

Enjoy your new toys Lars. Big Silky saw into the SRV kit. Great to see the Pink Ninja in her new theme suit. Regards, Greg
I used to live in Varusteleka when i lived in Helsinki, awesome place, the old building and the new shop, well new, it has been there for few years now. Funny guys indeed. lol.
Pink Ninja is awesome like her Dad!!
I just want to say that you bring hands down the best outdoorsman content on KZread, with very down-to-earth approach. Keep doing what you do! "You can say lot about Finns, but some of them watch the most awesome channel on YT!"

You nailed it bro.
Ive got the F180 for more than a year now, never let me down, I even use it for construction dry wood and OSB cutting, It cuts better than my toolbox saw
Varusteleka is amazing. I love their stuff. The craziest thing is the'll ship to the USA for 9.99. I have no idea how they can do that.

Yes it's a pretty good flat-rate!
The Big Boy 2000 is my go to saw for the forest (sub tropical rain forest) and it ALWAYS with me.
Silky Big Boy and F180... what can I say, Awesome !
Silky SHOULD sponsor your channel! I purchased a couple of their saws now. The first partly by your testing and recommendations. The others because they ARE GREAT SAWS! My personal favorite being the Gomboy 270 with med-large teeth. VERY EFFICIENT, and VERY RELIABLE.

If Silky was going to sponsor anyone It should be virtuovice. I love this channel but The guy that does the virtuovice channel here on youtube lives in japan and he is clearly the spark of rise of demand for these saws in the U.S. Made silky reviews years ago.

Same here. I ran with a laplander for about 3 years and its never failed me. I found this channel earlier this year, however and bought a Gomboy shortly thereafter. Silky saws and the Siberian log fire...some of the best advice I've learned from any YT channel. Thanks Lars!!

Same here, I spent over $300 there so far. all thanks to you.
I love that time of year- it's still autumn, but winter is coming fast. Such a rush of anticipation and foreboding at the same time.
Keep telling it like it is .HAPPY TRAILS
Kiitos kehuista!
I like the rubber coated shock cord in that pole. Apparently soldier proof until the average squad get their hands on it. Honestly, if you want something tested to destruction, there is no better method than giving it to the military. Just ask Norman the store man, he has the paperwork in triplicate.
Of the world of course think about it
Another great video and great job of camera work by Mrs. Survival Russia.
That was my kind of Christmas in a box...started with the itch the minute I spotted those saws lol. I could see the overwhelming desire to start cutting stuff immediately. Can't wait to see the tent halves in action. Funny I bought some really good ones from uk surplus store via eBay. I could see on the pictures that they had a "head slot" in them, but asked the seller if they could be used like poncho...he was actually quite rude and basically told me "not to be silly" its a tent. Well Mr surplus guy, I can tell you is that my tent makes an awesome poncho...all thanks to Survival Russia! (In fact I bought 4 halves in the end and use them for all sorts) Great video :)
Nice issue of gear! I can't wait to see the videos of the gear in use un the field! The pink ninja looks hard to see in her new camo one piece! Nice job, Lars!
I thought i was the only one that likes the surplus/warehouse smell.
The smell of surplus is in the air.......😀
I was in the army and each of us carried half of a tent shelter half and the poles for that half and you and another Soldier was supposed to put your hands together to make a tent... When I went to the field I had purchased me a second shelter half with the poles so if I had to I just have a lot of room for my gear... You take it to the shelter haves and needs or brush on them packed snow around that and you have a nice warm sleep... later I joined the submarine Force and I slept on a hammock in the Torpedo Room...
Santa Claus came early! Good to see you smiling rather than being frustrated with the latest Automobile setback. Couple of things. I too have the French Tent. You should tape all the seams, and some of the pegs may be a little weak for Russian Winter Soil. I have also see a Video where a guy took some Spray Adhesive and a cheap Space Blanket and used it to line the interior roof. Said it wasn't easy, but it did make the Tent warmer and a lot more easier to see inside. But keep in mind, it is NOT a Winter Tent. And I'd still rig a separate Tarp over the Camp Site, since the Tent does not have a separate Rain Fly. As to Dave's Coal Bed, well, he lives a couple of hours south of me, and I have taken his Basic Survival Course. Let's just say that it seldom gets to -30C in Ohio, and some of what he teaches would be just fine if I was stuck in 1820 Colorado and all I had was the Tools and Technology of that Time Period. But since I live in the 21st Century and I have Ferro Rods and Silky Saws, well, I think you know more about how to spend a Winter Night Outside. And the Pink Ninja is so CUTE! Enjoy your Gear!
Exactly!
Personally i can't wait to see the first Video of snowfall , first started to watch last winter and the snow was how a first saw you.

Varusteleka is great. In the US army surplus stores have become trendy and very expensive. Also it is so fun to see other countries gear. Wool clothing especially is quite expensive in the US.

@@travisdubose7637Most of the "Military Surplus" stores here in New England now carry more Chinese replica stuff than they do actual surplus.
Thanks for the video.
Silky saws, Varusteleka and Pink Ninja - Awesome video! ;-)
I'm a big fan of Varusteleka products myself. That Finnish (?) army field cap looks good on you! Regards from Finland.
Lars, THANK YOU so much for what you do, and for the reviews you make. Based upon watching you use them for years now, I have finally bit the bullet and purchased a Silky Bigboy! Also, I cannot wait to see you back out in the forest, getting it done. Your overnighter and camp vids are very inspirational and my favorite ones to watch. Instead of watching tv I binge on Survival Russia.
Lars you will love the BigBoy 2000. This is the saw I carry most often. Take Care my friend
I hope you will love the Silky Bigboy as much as I do! A great thing is that you can get spare blades with different sizes of teeth, so you can adapt a blade to the job on hand.
if it was not for the pink hat i never would have spotted pink ninja . very nice stuff you got Lars i hope to see you work and test them specially the French commando tent tell pink ninja not to attack any visitors unless they identify themselves to you first
Ahhh Yes! The smells of military equipment from what call in the Army CIF (Central Issuing Facility). Nothing better!
Where's my SIlky? Silky oh here it is its the Silky 2000 the ultimate in SR arsenal of saws. No tree is too small for a Silky. Lars! Got Silky will survive! Glad you got some cool saws to add to your collection.
The Pink Ninja's camo is quite effective. But I can still see her pink helmet.
Big Boy 2000 is my go to saw. Awesome blade
Look forward to the saws and tents reviews... staying dry and warm a priority and rhe saws we all want...we do t make sittingroom furniture with it, we cut logs lol. And you're right about the advice given on KZread...unless tried and tested, the advice means nothing. Best wishes - Steve
Good stuff... 76000... Lars, soon you'll hit 100000 and then your channel will take off at rocket speed! Fully deserved!
PINK NINJAAAAAAAA..............♥
Really looking forward to the videos on your new stuff. Looking behind you it really looks winter is bearing down on you
Yeah Survival Russia!!! My wife and I just said the same thing after I ordered my Plasch Palatka! I love the smell of surplus! Your video showed me how to put it on and use it for other things. Thank you.
Nice. Can't wait for the silky video. Will be looking for which one I like, so I can add it to the x mas list :)
That big Silky looks like the cats derriere.
That smell always takes me back to my childhood searching through army/navy stores for weird and wonderful gear. great post as ever Lars.
Getting home to a package with that surplus smell followed by that first beer after a long day smell, a fine start to the evening!
Yes! Finally something else than vehicle work. And you danes are awesome too :)

Finally! :) I did not mean to make so much vehicle "stuff".
lars. big or small you are teasing us. smile we love all your videos
Nice video Lars, and nice to see the Pink Ninja (or not see her) in her wool camo. Just like you the Silky saws are one of the best tools for outdoor use. Cant wait to see them in use. I purchase an omni-wool sock that i use year round actually that prevents sweaty and wet feet and work very well even after being soaked. Raining here saturday morning and by next week we are supposed to see that other four letter word that starts with "S". Have a great weekend Lars and look forward to the weekend editions.
WOW! CHRISTMAS came early for you!!!!
Awesome! Varusteleka is becoming one of my favorite places especially with the flat rate shipping!
Pink Ninja rules!
Ah, I love the the smell of surplus in the morning.
Nice unboxing!
great vid thanks
Love those beautiful, vintage Dachas!!
It's awesome to get back on the right track again and do something positive, even if it is a super unboxing. Yes, you simply have to get the pink Ninja a camo hat, because the pink hat was all that I could see behind that bush. I cannot wait to see the video resulting from the unboxed items...a bit like an early christmas unboxing, Lars. Well, we're all little children at heart. Take care...
Unboxing goodies from Varusteleka. Who would ever give that a thumb-down?
Lookin forward to up coming vids.
You're one of the very best on KZread. You are definitely highly skilled and knowledgeable with a strong penchant for teaching. You are also very charming.....I must say. Please, keep it up, I look forwards to ever new video. BTW, I LOVE your accent! Russian men are wonderful. God bless you & yours...now & forever. With love from USA.
Been looking for a good tent halves set as this. Not easy to find. Great choice! Finally, winter is close.
I know its a bit late, neverless actually I got the plessure to have a white birch sap infused Vodka (one glass!) with some sliced onion and *handmake cold-smoked garlic beacon* .... ....and your *awesome* video - Nostrovie i spasivo, Towarisch!
Silky saws are awsome.

I have that exact big boy saw and it’s awesome. I’m amazed at the size of lumber I can cut. And I agree on the bahco. Although I do have a second blade for it that looks similar to the silky blade. I haven’t used it yet however.
props to silky! I know I like mine
Awesomeness
The "Camo Ninja" haha.Must go see if i can find me a Silky.
Great video Lars cheers

I see it's turning cool were you are.
One way to get around the drive rods slapping against the shock absorbers is to (also) put in another set of extender plates, on the base plate for the shock absorber. This would be a 1 1/2 - 2 inch chunk of metal firmly bolted into the base plate near the drive rod (that wouldn't snap off in heavy duty operations). Then bolt the shock to the extender. This would push the shocks further away from the drive rods. The camber (diagonal) would be more vetical, and also push the rig up a little higher in height. This makes the shocks more vertical, than their diagonal position, and more shock absorbing in the vertical, than wearing out the shocks trying to absorb impact energies in the diagonal and wearing out the shock.
really cool stuff Lars. I bought the same exact lavuu a couple years ago and they are really awesome. I love it. I also got the polish one and the Russian poncho. its pretty awesome too. I really like your videos. you are a very well informed man. keep up the great work and God bless you and your family.

I have both the "Hungarian Lavvu" (mine came without the pegs) and the french tent. They are both awesome! I am planning to make a small stove with an empty 50 cal. ammo box for the lavvu making it my winter tent (prior waterproofing it of course)! keep with the awesome work! Thank You!
Good stuff. I've got the Silky Bigboy 2000 and I really like that saw!
I got my first order from Varusteleka a few weeks ago, their shipping price to Canada was a flat rate of $15 CDN, most awesome, their products come and go as surplus usually behaves, so far the stuff I got from them was well priced and as they described, you must read their descriptions, they are hilarious. I also have an F180 but it has never left its packaging, yet....

Hi Lars, That tent is awesome! Cheers
In case it hasn't been pointed out yet, varusteleka is Finnish for 'equipment sledgehammer'. Don't ask.
Looking forward to see more of the surplus tent! They seem awesome, heavy duty stuff.
All the cammo pattern and then shiny pole and stakes.
good stuff for my favorite store in Finland. looking forward to your video on that Hungarian tent, I've been tempted to buy one.. as I recall the footprint is square or rectangular. great store great prices great shipping, and last order 8 days from Helsinki to Seattle.
As always, awesome. :)
Great stuff, just found your channel, I from US, retired INF, love the view on EU, stuff very good quality, I would keep a watch on pink ninja she looks like she will quickly take you out and take over the channel! Love it from northern MAN, closest thing you would get in US to home! Already have 12+ for deer hunting!
