Thank you so much! I’m enjoying my time in Germany so much right now. I’m usually here in the winter, and the fresh green is putting a huge smile on my face :) My next videos will be about the journey to CA.

That fall... wow 😳 Thanks for sharing that adventure. I just started following you after your Katadyn review. Great success as you move south to warmer climes. Try Aldo Leopolds Mogollan (sp?) Rim in the Blues, perhaps. I think it is well used though. Always enjoy your monologue and sound track.

Thank you so much for your comment and watching. It means a lot to me that you checked out my gear reviews and also watched other content. That’s often times not the case as people just get the info they need and move on :) I will check out the locations you mentioned once I’m home again. I’m on a short trip to my parents right now. :)

What a pleasant surprise to see a new video from you as for the news about Southern California....Wow.....I couldn't do it but I'm sure you guys will make the best of it and you will definitely have new adventures. As soon as you said it I thought...Crap! she will need all new gear. I don't think you would be happy with the Soulo. I looked at it and no doubt it is well made but the cramped space would be a pain in the bottom especially when you consider it weighs 5.5lbs(BL=6.3lbs). Considering where you are moving it's smart to be looking at Dyneema tents. I have two Zpacks tents which are their Duplex(17.9oz) and their FreeDuo(30oz) and once you use a dyneema tent (a lot of good choices other than Zpacks...its just what I have) you will always want to carry them. They really do spoil you in spite of any limitations. I've been wanting to get the HyperLite Ultamid 4 with the half insert but I have been holding off.....not sure the wife will tolerate another tent....lol. I'm looking forward to what ever new tent you decide to go with. It's also worth looking at a Dyneema tarp. I always have my 8.5'x10' Zpacks(6.9oz...again just what I happen to have) and it's always in my kit and you don't even feel the weight. Thanks so much for watching and for your comment! You put a smile on my face :D "CRAP" ... that was our reaction too, but we will make the best of it, and it's super fun to think about new gear. I will definitely check out all the names that you mention. The Soulo might still be great for winter trips in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, but otherwise, it is no good. I also added a hyperlight backpack and quilt to my wishlist. I love all the gear that I have, but I can't wait to cut down on weight so I can escape the masses on the trails and find some truly remote locations. It will be harder here in California. Well, it was great to hear from you again. My next videos will be of the multi-day drive down to CA, followed hopefully by brand new trips and gear videos :)

Ja, ganz bestimmt wird das aufregend. Ich bin zwar eher ein Bergmensch, aber ich freue mich wirklich auf ganz neue Erfahrungen und Landstriche. Hoffentlich habe ich bald Zeit für einen Trip.
