Jayna, you have definitely become more confident and engaged in the podcast. I'm enjoying your observations and comments. I was laughing when Megan summarized your comment to buy kids new clothes to make them more astheticly pleasing! Hahaha. At mid school year, your kids probably need a few new basics or a new shirts. Adults enjoy looking nice and get excited with a new item, and kids will as well. Post holiday sales are a good time to get deals. Another suggestion is to get new towels. Fresh, thick, cozy towels are a nice addition but often overlooked. You can donate older towels to animal shelters.

I enjoy starting my day with devotions with God; watching exercise KZreadrs - it gets me off the couch when it's too cold/snowy to get outside; work on puzzles; play games with spouse/family; declutter a closet or drawer; get my "sewing" done; rearranging/organizing a drawer or room; getting undone/unfinished indoor projects finished; have neighbors over for a cuppa tea/coffee and a cookie fresh out of your oven; go out to the grocery; library; sit in front of your window and let the sun shine on you; do something crafty and fun. Enjoyed you two ladies chatting. God bless you and yours.

I literally just started (finally) clearing out old water bottles the other day, and you guys are encouraging me to keep going!😂 Also, if you have a TV or large screen in a common area, one of my favorite ambiance things to do for visuals, sound, or both is to pull up videos on KZread (like winter ambiance, Christmas ambiance, etc.) and let it play. They are videos with pretty images and gentle music, often jazz, that last for hours. So nice!

I love an empty looking room with pretty much nothing anywhere. All three of my kids were sick around Christmas (and one of them had a birthday). It's sad. It is part of why I am not a winter fan. You have great ideas for getting through the "winter blues." I go to the library every week and enjoy going there during this season. My husband just likes plain black or grey socks. I agree kneading bread is therapeutic. I'm with you about the early dark nights. I love watching the sunrise every morning and sometimes I miss the sunset! Instead of show er steamers, I like to put a few drops of an essential oil in the shower to smell through the steam!

with blankets, choose your favourites and when you have enough for the household, put the others away in a secure box to bring out when blankets wear out. If you use fewer at a time, they will wear out quicker, and then you will have a stockpile to choose from when one wears out. I use them on beds in winter, as a throw for sofas and chairs to cover old or worn seats, and then we like to sit under a blanket in the evenings when we are crafting. I also store some in the car for in case of break downs and a big one with my pushchair and each child's car seat for cooler trips.

The snimals prefer this over the metal cages snd cement and they are used after surgery to wake up from anesthesia, beach towels work as well, snything hat is easy to wash. Groomers eould love them as well. I was a vet tech in he Army. I have worked in all kinds of clinical settings and my neighbor owns a large grooming place. Dog hotels as well...would love them.

Reading and walking is not a concept I’ve ever thought of! My only concern for women is safety, when we’re out and about. I think it’s important for us to keep scanning our surroundings for safety reasons. If I was reading I couldn’t do that. My husband doesn’t even want me to walk in a wooded public trail alone. When I’m in a large parking lot, I never just get out of the car without looking around me and making sure nothing crazy is happening. I always notice young mothers with children who are very distracted and I’m concerned. So be aware when you’re out there!

I would love some winter advice! So I grew up in York County and my husband in upstate NY, but we moved away to Florida as older teenagers and we're now 30, so it's been a while. We are soon moving to Colorado to help a church, so we're going to be thrown back into winter, and even more severe winters than we grew up with. Any advice you have for adjusting to such an extreme change? We have 3 kids too who've only lived in Florida, so they're probably going to struggle more than us.

I have lived my entire life in the Syracuse area and my suggestion would be to make sure your children have the best outwear that you can afford so they are comfortable outside and make sure you have all the fun winter toys, snowboards, sleds, skates, etc. I recognize it may take a bit of playing outside to acclimate to the cold and lots of snow on the ground helps but snow is instant fun to the kids around here.

Since you tossed off saying we all know Christ wasn’t born on December 25th, we should probably also be knowing that everything of this is God inspired and man written. Just like the month December or that we have the New years on January 1st or that January is the first month or that we have 12 months in a year. The calendar world follows now is known to be Gregorian calendar which was instituted by Pope Gregory xiii . So I think we should all be thankful that there is a reason why God has inspired us to celebrate His Birthday on that particular day and like we all Christians know, nothing happens without His Knowledge and Approval. So we should be giving others the freedom of celebrating Christmas joyously knowing it’s God inspired and not giving others a mentality that we are just randomly celebrating a day for Christ for the sake of it. If we’re celebrating it, let’s be celebrating it joyously for Him.

I think that's the cup that survived a car fire. A lady's car burnt and the cup remained. I think Stanley ended up buying her a new car and these bottles have been selling like hotcakes ever since. Jayda I agree, toss the only ones. My husband wants us to keep cups for the kids that have chewed straws and that look worn out. In his defense, yes they function, but no they need to go. It's better to have one really good one than a bunch of crap. Lol Still, consumerism is at its finest, unfortunately. Not the best purchase. I wouldn't buy it. I need a leakproof bottle for sure. If you guys are looking for a new read, tangible or audible try "the Danish way of parenting" I found it so interesting and helpful, and after if you like it you could dive into another book about hygge lifestyle. (I'm not Danish- just an interesting way of life). I always buy holiday themed shirts/dresses for our girls. I wish I could do it for me too but they come first. 😅 I had an inner struggle with getting rid of blankets because they are essential for warmth and we were gifted so many nice handmade ones, but I just had too many. Some were sentimental too. I tried to pick the ones that were used the most and that I had photographs of my girls using. I still have a few that have a quilt that has stains on it from the kids because we used it as a couch cover but it's such a nice one that I can't part with it. I push myself to like winter. I have to. I live in a very northern part of Canada. Although this winter was weird. We had a green Christmas. I think it was from me seeing meghans kids sledding in Snowflakes and I prayed that it could be that warm here 😂 we now have 30 cm of snow tomorrow. Probably a snow day after just sending the kids back to school today.

Something to think about, you could move Jesus' birth celebration to Sept/Oct since that is more accurate. This would be during the Fall Feasts/Holy Days God instituted (not man). Break the cycle of preferring the lie. 🥰

Cute socks without shoes are ok when they are clean. But iskanky bare feet are so gross , I can’t even take people plopping their clean bare feet around either.

How many times do you have to mention you are pregnant? That seems VERY insensitive to Jana... It's OBVIOUS you are pregnant.
