I love anything that might fall into the smash pass category
I have been doing this for a while , prior to seeing this video. I have always thought it was called the Sao Paolo pass. It is extremely effective
Loudest mat ever. Good stuff Priit. Your turtle, dead panda, running man I learned at the Caribbean camp elevated my game 25%. Keep it coming.
Priit is amazing! If you haven't got to listen to this live, I highly recommend going to a camp and training with him. It seems obvious but people have no idea what to do when you do this!
man I'll have to watch this. Just my thing. Also: "Using my gravity" YESS!!! I'm just a beginner but this is exactly what I've been thinking and what I never liked about the old school approach. Also I want to make them uncomfortable. Standing up is too easy on them. Great explanation and concepts as well! Thank you so much
This guy is a frickin genius coach! There's a lot of great stuff right here. I've gotta search more of his stuff. I think I"m a super fan after just one video. You're doing a wonderful job sir!

Can you point me to some of his successful students? Seriously curious. Could only find this kzread.info/dash/bejne/h5eKqMqCmLjgnbQ.html
Dunno why this channel has only 9k subs. Pure gold imho - can start using it right away and it works! - I am beginner. And something I can do and which helps is what I desperately need right now
Amazing lesson! Always out of the box, professor. Thank you.
Heavily agree. The internet needs more closed guard stack pass vids.
wow, really good coaching, starting from the principle, then step by step to the technic. really make student understand how it works
I love this explanation. Everything is so easy to understand and so straightforward. 5 stars!
Love the details.
Exactly what I think. This is going with the flow and with a strong opponent this pass is brilliant
I use this guys stuff successfully in rolls after watching his seminars every time, wish he had an instructional

@@DefensiveBJJ All of them are fantastic! Thank you Priit! :)
Priits methods bought me time, and I win matches. Really cool.
Extremely interesting and useful! Great explanations and conceptual stuff too, can't wait to try this out. Massive thanks Priit
Love it! Rico Chipparelli taught this back in the day on Randy Cotuers 2 tape set with elbows to the side of the dome. Randy (and Dan Henderson) worked it and both worked with SBG. Full circle come around. Love this. Mixed with Dan Severns stack material. And as you showed the old school stack mma arm pin & pass. Eric Paulson shows a great chicken wing off that pass. My size & smaller you're right. It's great! Thanks for sharing!

you know your grappling sir
I really enjoyed this Ooss from Australia
What he's talking about in starting at the end and working your way back to the beginning is also known as "reverse engineering." It's done in multiple martial arts systems as a way of figuring out how an entire counter or counter-to-counter methodology or subsystem works. It creates a result - based focus which results in more results.

It’s also a very common learning technique in operant conditioning based animal training. They call it “back-chaining” a behavior. For example if you want to teach your dog to fetch the paper, you start with the dog just taking the paper into its mouth from your hand then releasing it to you. Then you would put the paper on the ground right in front of you and end with releasing into your hand… etc… until you have the full finished behavior. It’s an enormously powerful learning tool that we should be taking advantage of way more often.
Nice one Priit!
Liked it before I watched it
Damn, this resonates a lot with me. Have been going 'into' stuff instead of posturing since day one, always thinking I did something 'wrong' (but getting better results). Getting on the mat with a lot of no-gi guys tends to open your eyes as well.
watched this today, then rolled. it worked!
Holyshit. The reverse triangle is right there after the pass.
got this pass defending an arm bar by stcking, got my knee around the side after i defended and it should have worked but got armbared again, and tossed to my side- by a fellow blue belt and i couldnt figure out why but 25:00 i just didnt remember to my head on the mat.. its been bugging me for weeks now thanks again priit
One of the most efficient way to pass the guard
39:23 the best answer no one wants to hear.
@Defensive BJJ how do you prevent underhooks when stacking exactly ? Especially gi?
at 20:20 he talks about the science of learning, can anybody point me to the journals? im very interested in the subject and it would be greatly appreciated!
I remember some wrestler with staches and mullet did video about same technique like 12 years ago he got laughed by bjj guys like "I would armbar him", "I would take his back" etc.
looks like a wonderful experience being passed like that hahaha
So is stacking only for against bigger people?
I have tried this a few times in sparring. I seem to struggle with getting around their hips, when I move to the side they move with me. Any help ?

Control their head
I gotta build up some neck power for head on the mat and toe flexibility for toes on the mat.
Maybe place the links he mentions at the end of the video in the description?

One thing he always brings up in camp is to have live toes and being active. That might help a bit to avoid this.

Also, as he emphasizes, these types of closed guard breaks (Tozi passing, etc) should not be done against a bigger, stronger opponent. Make sure they're about the same size.
now how to beat the stacker?
