I'm thinking of going to Middlebury for a study abroad year, how different is it from a big state university, and is Middlebury near any towns or cities, I don't know anything about Vermont or what the whole vibe is like at a private university lol

What do students do on the weekends? How many hours do students study each week? What is the drinking/party culture like? Thank you :)

Students do a lot of exploring Vermont- there are many places to hike and ski and adventure, and a lot of people like to go to Burlington on the weekends. I usually stay on campus though, and spend time making art & music with friends. I would say homework is 3-4 hours per day, depending on how quickly one works. I would say the party culture is very active, and super similar to the party/drinking culture of other NE liberal arts schools. No pressure to participate, but always something going on.

yeah! and the party scene seems pretty similar to the other NE liberal arts schools.
