On my commutes to work I over heats halfway to work..but still warm ..ride safe

You forgot the most important gear warm socks and boots for winter.

For 40F / ca 4C I wear my regular summer riding gloves, but add thin Marino liner, I have the Brynje Classic liner gloves. I currently use Size Small Leatt MTB 4.0 gloves, I use nitrile gloves between if I need wind and waterproofing. For -4c (24.8F) to -10C(14F) I wear thick wool Defeet gloves, and Size Medium (one size too big) Endura Mt500II gloves with Nitrile gloves between. But I have two sizes too big gloves too, so with those I can combine the two liners, thin and thick liner, and it still has good tactile feel, and does not move around. I guess this might work down to -15 or -20C, But never got to test it. I prefer doing this instead of using winter riding gloves. There mgiht be some good ones. But with this method, I can wear out the riding gloves I can swap them, or swap for anything else, I can regulate how breathable they are, if I need wind and waterproofing, wear different liner.
