I was at the Forks early in the morning that day, I wanted to get a decent spot before it got really crowded for the announcement and the first couple of hours were interesting. I was the first to sign the welcome home banner, I got my picture taken with Thomas Steen, I got a Hockey Night in Canada 4 on 4 shirt (good thing all I had on was a team Canada shirt) then like before (don't know how long) the announcement I got a CitvTv poncho after I hit my head on a fans elbow

It's good thing I got a poncho because someone in front of me had champagne, not to mention the weather was not perfect that day. Before the announcement was made the speakers were playing Stompin' Tom's Hockey Song which was really appropriate. I remember at one point we were chanting Bettman sucks and a TSN camera was pointing at us (I'm not sure it was on though) I left after the announcement was done but a part of wishes that I stayed longer.

The NHL screwed Winnipeg when the WHA and NHL merged. They weren't allowed to keep most of their star players, the players that helped the Jets win the Avco Cup! The team had a rough start in the NHL and couldn't get over the hump in a tough division!

Any Winnipeggers falling out of love with the Jets yet?

not really, I will admit, sometimes I do think about how I wish we could have gotten the coyotes back, but every time I do the Jets score (and we've beaten the coyotes more than we've lost to them). The Jets have been improving slowly, sometimes they have good seasons sometimes they have bad, but I'm glad we ended up with the thrashers, especially since most of the players on the team basically fell in love with the city
