    @@Zeina107 he’s in Japan..so I doubt that was the case. Things happen. I’m sure they asked for help, the situation was cleaned up, and everything was fine. I’ve seen more issues come from the machines messing themselves up rather than customers ruining them, plus if you have cleaning staff..that would be their job. To clean I mean haha! I did. These machines are programmed to hit payout percentages just like any other claw game. The wholesale prices of most of these prizes is probably less than 1 US dollar so it's easier to win. I suspect these machines have a much higher turnover and take in much more money than a typical American machine too.

    Those machines look definitely fun to try. The creative thematics and games, the prizes, the pristine and colorful designs, everything is so attractive to play. I respect the dedication, and money put into this video just for entertainment.

  • @pre4edgc
    @pre4edgc Жыл бұрын

    Coming from an arcade background, it's really important to scope out the machines first, do some basic simulations in your head about how it can turn out when playing, and decide then if you want to play. When I went to Japan, I came back with an absolute haul of figures, bags, pillow cases, and t-shirts from crane games for under 5000 yen. I completely avoided any games that looked similar to the ones at the end of your video, knowing that wedging is a thing that totally happens and is the intended design to claim your money. If you start playing games without trying to properly scope and simulate, you'll have a wallet-emptying time, no matter what country you're in, though. The same applies to US crane games of all kinds: they are designed to make money, not let you win. If you win every time, it means WHAT you're winning was paid for in spades by the cost of your single play (see: rubber duck cranes, where each rubber duck costs the business ~$0.02 per duck, if not less, and you're paying $0.50+ per play).

    They're not that bad... I got some in a sampler boy of Japanese snacks and I was surprised. They may be an acquired taste though. Dried seaweed is a good snack too.

    Hmmmm... those machines do look like they're a lot of fun, and therein lies the problem! They are a form of gambling, essentially and more often than not, the player spends far, far more trying to win something than the actual prize/product is worth. Such machines, filled with soft toys (which are all I've seen here in the UK) are bad enough, where most players give up eventually if they don't win, such machines filled with snacks and drinks are temptations not so easily resisted!

    I remember a candy arcade machine in an arcade museum where 25c won gave you 2 mins to shove as much candy into a bag... with 2 goes you could take half the machines candy and was about half a pillow case size.

    Letting us know the amount of money spent per prize won per attempt would be much more useful I just don't like the thought of kids believing you won first try.

    It's all rigged. There are a bunch of settings they can adjust and now they do it over wifi. They adjust wins based on time of day and day of the week. Best way to teach kids is to give them $10 to either buy something they want or chance it on a gaming center. When they loose $10 in under 15 minutes then they will learn.

    That was the price in the corner was, though, down to a count of attempts made. Unless you mean also adding in how much the prize would be if you straight out bought it.
