When I first saw the dish of shrimp cocktail, I was also disappointed with the presentation. Happy that it tasted good.

I love shrimp cocktail but I always feel ripped off because they give you so few shrimp for such a high price.

We really liked it! Especially their 50% off menu for those of us over 50 😂 on Wednesday

$17 for shrimp cocktail is kind of expensive especially when compared to the prime rib dinner special for 19.95 with all the veggies and potato included. 😮

Danny The Historian loves missionary and putting it all the way in. I have never seen a shrimp cocktail served like a plate of nachos. DTM I told you "off the grill" always taste better. Free vegetables always taste better. I really enjoyed your stories, I would have laughed my butt off if I have seen it with my own eyes.

At 3 dollars for each shrimp it looks like you got a bargain. Best of all it was free. A 10 is high praise indeed. The grilled prime rib with double potatoes was a nice touch.since you got free veggies as a bonus. That was a good comp. A 10 and a 9 means you will be back for more.

The red sauce is shrimp cocktail sauce. Based on ketchup, but contains a bunch of other ingredients like horseradish, hot sauce, etc, so it is more spicy than sweet.

Danny, I know the shrimp cocktail is a "10", but $17 for 6 shrimp is crazy money to me. I am so glad you got it on a comp. That is $2.84 per shrimp!!! WTF? I used to drink the salad dressing at Dojo! I’m also a NY to Vegas transplant (with a stop in LA) and I have a restaurant that I think you would love here- it’s called Samurai Japanese BBQ . My boyfriend and I are big fans of yours and we’d love to go with you! We can even pick ya up as we live pretty close to you. They even have a free private dining room which is great for filming.

Cool story with the history of the hotel. It brought back memories of how I used to go to Ensenada with my father decades ago. Shrimp cocktail is something that my family never let me eat. They only ordered shrimp Cantonese style, with honey walnuts, fried with salt and pepper or white boiled. Glad the shrimp, prime rib, potatoes and vegetables were winners.

This restaurant is one of the better places downtown Vegas for quality of food and price.

Last time I was in las vegas on fremont street.cant remember which casino that had $1 cocktail but the portion was in a cup also the shrimp were small..I went for the price

Those look like 13-16 Colossal, we use the larger ones called 12- Super Colossal for our tempura in our restaurants. Thx for sharing especially that delicious Prime Rib again.

Aloha Danny! My husband and I enjoy all your videos. In the past you mentioned you would make a video on how to travel vis the bus system. We usually stay at Four Queens or California Hotel and are very interested in how to go to the strip via the bus. We haven’t rented a car due to increased cost and cost of parking at a strip hotel.

I tried the prime rib this last weekend, it was quite good. However, Siegels feels like a Dennys in Red instead of Yellow. So the ambiance is lacking but the food and service is decent.

It’s good because they actually cooked the raw shrimp and chilled. Most places just defrost shrimp premade or premade themselves and froze. That’s why the taste in most shrimp cocktail is gone and sadly, we’re used to it lol

Please go to Silverton out in Henderson and try their $2.50 cocktail shrimp at the bar. That’s a real Vegas shrimp cocktail

It’s now $2.99 at the Fremont.

I buy a frozen bag of shrimp larger than that with 25 to 30 count for $ 20.00 at the grocery store.

I have to admit, I’m a shrimp-aholic. I could almost taste the shrimp as you were eating.

Not even any lettuce with the shrimp and they look lost against the white plate.

$17 for shrimp cocktail is a more reasonable price than I have seen. I’d pay that all day if it was good. Typically I’m lying over $20 for shrimp cocktail. The best I’ve ever had was at The Palm Restaurant it was $25 and the shrimp were huge!

Does Fremont still have the worst shrimp cocktail downtown, it used to be ok 20 years ago!

@9:35 that shrimp cocktail....are they using that much sauce to make it look like you are getting more than you do? Who would use that amount? Maybe you accidentally ordered cocktail sauce with shrimp. A couple slices of crusty bread would have been nice to finish off that sauce with.

That El Cortez prime rib is a wonderful meal for the price. Last month I ate prime rib special at the miracle mile. The food looked good, the rare prime rib that I ordered was so tough that it was difficult to cut with a knife. It was also difficult to chew. Worst meat of any kind that I have ever had, I think I may have been chewing on leather! At about $30, I can tell you this: "It's becoming really expensive getting to Vegas to lose money in the casinos!"
