Wingsuit BASE in Italy & Switzerland
Спорт
18th July 2022 update: RIP to Chris Byrnes, absolute legend, I wouldn't have done any of these jumps if it wasn't for Chris's amazing support and coaching. Chris was a one-off human being, never a dull moment around him with his insanely infectious energy. You'll be missed Chris 💚
I was extremely lucky to get one on one coaching with one of the top professional WS pilots in the world Chris Byrnes. He gave extensive briefs, debriefs, video analysis, Flysight data analysis, terrain laser profile analysis and a hell of a great time in some of the most beautiful locations in the world.

What I wouldn’t give to do this…..but, seeing as I’ll be 70 in October, I’ll try to be satisfied with just watching you guys have all the fun. Hard to imagine the tremendous rush! Great upload and new sub here.👍 Please fly safe. Jim.
That canyon run was like something out of Star Wars. Absolutely epic.

There is another jump located very near this one in the Dolomites called Death Star, it's quite a technical jump so I didn't feel ready for it on this trip. There are plenty on vids on YT though that you should check out for some cool visuals.
Awesome flight and the wingsuit is amazing.
Awesome. And the sound of the wind makes it 100 times more enjoyable to watch.
Palms are sweating after you’s going through that canyon… hats off to you guys 🙌🏼
the camera jumper is more daring they have to do a job first while jumping too. makes the lead jumper looking good I applaud the camera person!

Got to be a blast! Amazing nerve! Makes my back and neck ache , seems a violent jerk on deploying the parachute, but I’m an ole envious man . Thanks for sharing
Incredible Anto Man , Skills and Balls of Steel . I loved watching it man . I always remember you popping wheelies on my Hornet back in the Day when I was unable . Fuckin deadly , you were the first dude around to ride a real nice Hornet. I've still got one. Stay safe in this crazy World, much respect from the Green Mountains of Ireland ☘️⛰✌️

SQUIRREL!!! Yall are insane but it makes for entertaining footage fosho!!! Nuts I say absolutely NUTS!!!!
My heart is thumpen watching this stuff!!! Great content.
I've only gone skydiving twice back in 2006 and it was a blast. Would highly recommend doing this stuff. Life is too short to be afraid of skydiving, base jumping and wingsuit flying.

Amazing flights, I love it, very inspirational! Right now I'm a skydiver with 45 jumps, so beginner really, but I hope that in few years I'll get to that point! Hope to see more videos, blue skies!

Only recommendation I'd give is pick your skydiving sub-discipline early on and stick to it. I wore my 2 piece tracking exclusively suit from jump 40 all the way to 110 when I did my first WS jump in a Phantom 3.

BEAUTIFUL! Simply AMAZING!!! I would LOVE to do wingsuiting, but I don't have the guts to jump out of a plane. I know you have to have at least 200+ skydives before you can even consider wingsuiting. GREAT video BTW
Gorgeous flights and lovely footage.
Really excellent video! I always think watching these that you must have to be really careful not to deploy your chute with the other person still behind you. Also, that flight through the canyon was epic.
Congratulations, Awesome compilation !! Super fast and good progression and sick camera style by Chris. That Canyon in Italy is siick
Looks amazing and the wind noises makes it feel like we're flying with you... but please stay safe. Especially when flying close to those cliffs and through canyons.
Sick flights, looks like you had a tonne of fun! The captions of your experiences are a great aspect. Very enjoyable video, you got a new sub.
Man! Those openings look hard as hell!

They sure cracked my back pretty good, I was used to opening for Skydiving, for Base you have to flare a lot more before pitching
At 70 excellent cont.2 b safe and keep o. Rocking
Thanks for sharing that collection, I watched them all! Great! Lovely flying weather, perfect. Great views. You had a good time. 👍
cool, this looks much more fun than regular skydiving in a field. add this one to my bucket list of things that i will never do but have watched it on youtube instead!
Best WS BASE video I've watched! Blue Skies
Brilliant photography, absolutely a buzz from New Zealand. 👍👍
No matter how many times they jump off that cliff it still gives me anxiety! Lol I love heights and gliding but WOW!
Beautiful and honest cut of an amazing journey! I admire your patience and the pace you showed when progressing towards WS Base: first hundreds of WS skydives plus hundreds of Base Jumps, both slick and in tracking suits. That's the way to do it, now you have the rest of your life to enjoy WS Base Jumping in the safest possible way. All the best, blue skies and eventually see you at the Horner or Alpine Base 😉✌🏻

Brave people.
Technology is cool love the wingsuits. Must be a big rush....
really cool stuff, rembers me when i was beginning. istarted from jump 50 only with a trackng suit,before i did the gorilla,too, after 30 jumps in a tube3 i tried the prodigy for 10 jumps and then tried a phantom and t.bird. like you i did acrobatics,had therefore a flatspin and a cutaway :D and cloudsurfing,too.unfortunately i made a kid in 2008 and started 2012. at the beginning she always asked if she could do a tandem :D but with time and better working brain she recognized my aff teacher died at the dropzone and i had a very close call too...so igave her a promise to quit jumping..but im sure i will rebegin someday...but its nice to watch in another life i maybe would fly from mountains like you do. good luck )

Just wondering.... Shouldn't it be a good idea to make sure that before you plan your day of jumping off of cliffs that one should make sure there's a steady high atmospheric pressure in that area? I'm not at all by any means a meteorologist nor a cliff driving adventurist but I am somewhat familiar about how warm air keeps birds up while cold air keeps birds grounded ( hence the reason why most birds migrate to warmer climates during the winter months)

how to overcome the fears to jump? insane o. 0 I m certainly having no issues dying tomorrow but these kind of fears to jump from a mountain ... are built-in :D
Dude at 7:01 where you pass through the canyon what's the name of the exit ??? Is it near sass pordoi also ???
@AntoH
2 жыл бұрын
It's called Piz da Lech, it's not too far from Sass Pordoi. Super fun jump! look up death star also which is very nearby but is way more advanced and technical.
Ok, ok. camera man has mad skills.
@3:00 thought he was going to go thru that crack
How do I not piss my pants with fear while watching your video, any advice? First time watching and a big thumbs up !!!
Death rate in this sport is 1 in 500 ! And Without the helmet is still 1 in 500 !
What is the glide slope capability of one of these wing suits (typically)?
@AntoH
2 жыл бұрын
For a large wingsuit you could fly at a sustained glide of 3:1, for BASE you generally fly for max speed, not glide as that equates to more available lift.
Whooomp
Is sky diving the same thing ? Freefall ?
tel me something: why does the first guy never really slow down until he pulls the chute ? = Every time he pulls the handle, he gets trown back violently...... :-(.....
what kind of glide rate do you guys get out of them things?
@AntoH
2 жыл бұрын
You can get 3:1 which is a little less aerodynamic than a space shuttle on final approach. For BASE you should be flying for max speed and not max glide.
Check me directing the wingsuit pilot from my couch 😂
Do you guys just eyeball your altitude? I don’t see any altimeters and would you have time to deploy a reserve if you have a malfunction?
@AntoH
Жыл бұрын
Yes, just eyeball altitude, BASE containers don't have reserves, so if I get a malfunction Im f**ked

Get a 2 piece tracking suit and spend a lot of jumps focusing on performance, a flysight is a must and learn how to read the data it provides as well as reacting to the real time feedback. Don't rush to get a 1 piece tracking suit or a large wingsuit.

@@AntoH thanks a lot for the piece of advice
I was dizzy the first 3 take offs
This looks amazing but if im being picky - the only bad thing seems to be the ratio between hiking and jumping time.
@AntoH
2 жыл бұрын
made even worse if the weather gets bad and you have to hike back down.
Do you guys have a helicopter to fly you back up? How do you have enough time to do 3 jumps in a day if you have to hike back to the top?
@AntoH
2 жыл бұрын
At Brento there is a bus that brings you up to about 30mins from the exit point, also many jumps in switzerland and Italy have a gondola or train then a short hike down. Brento base school sometimes runs a heli boogy where you're lucky enough to have a helicopter bring you to more difficult to reach jumps.
👌👌👌👍👍👍👍
Fajnie ☺
It seems a little more surface area would give more glide time.
Cameraguy: Yew! me: me?
Has anybody Ever went splat on the side of one of those mountains or cliffs?
I want to known......from you ( jumper)......do you ressent (feel) the sensation off (APPESENTEUR) ? WHen you are are flying with out the parachute ?...it extremely interresting to known that .....I shall explain why here in you tube if you answer
