"Why 3.1? Do you have an obsession with pi?" If you haven't been following my channel since its early days, this is a question that comes up a lot. You should probably know that I consider 31 a bit of a lucky/important number in my gaming career. Years ago, when I started on KZread, I was randomly selected by Valve to receive 1 of 100 limited edition Golden Wrenches in Team Fortress 2. The item was incredibly rare, untradeable, and highly coveted. Mine was #31. The TF2 community was torn apart by the exclusivity of the item, and many flame wars occurred at their expense. Some people were angry at me just for (randomly) getting one. They wanted me to delete the wrench out of protest, which would send a game-wide notification to all TF2 players. Other people offered me a lot of money for my account. I started thinking about if there was a way to make something good happen that intersected the angry people and the people who wanted to throw money around. I decided to run a charity drive. Or rather, a charity ransom. I'd delete the wrench, sure, but only if I got enough in donations for Child's Play Charity. I contacted other wrench owners and asked if they would hop on board, assuming we raised enough money. 13 of them agreed, and I decided we'd run 31 days of fundraising, ending on August 31. Somehow, this picked up Steam, literally. Valve got on board. Gaming press covered it everywhere. Random podcasters and show hosts reached out for interviews. But most importantly, people donated. A lot. Hundreds of dollars. Thousands of dollars, tens of thousands of dollars. Unbelievably enough, the final donation coming in on the 31st put us just over $30,700... which rounds up to a nice, even $31k for Child's Play Charity. We destroyed the wrenches on live stream. It made a certain number of people mad, knowing they'd never be able to buy or get these items. But I wanted to prove that people are more important than pixels, and that sometimes you can use one group's angst to fuel another group's passion to do something good. And I guess it succeeded. Anyway, that's why I like the number 31.

Please explain to me why people use the word "content" in EVE so much. Every single time it pulls you out of the universe and into a game. Is there even any word that can destroy suspension of disbelief quite as much as "content"? This of course goes in general, but I would say that for Wingspan, a role-playing corp, this is more true than anywhere else. Even if it's in your slogan, or rather, because it's in there, shouldn't you avoid using it in this manner to keep up appearances?

+ChielScape the reason content is so popular in EVE is because unlike other games, EVE doesn't supply content for the player. It's a sandbox like Minecraft where the players must create or curate content. So it becomes important to generate it, talk about it, etc.

+CuNi it's not a normal song performed by a band or anything, it's a stock music track you have to license to listen to/use from sites like audio jungle

I recently started playing EVE, and got stuck after the first 40mins. it says: you are ready to start training the skills, just place book on top of the list. done it, but all i see is some "18hrs remaining" "4hrs remaining" i wonder what do i have to do to start the training? WINGSPAN TT dont be sad. I tried editing my own videos and I had to stare at the stupid mistake I did of wasting my last Null S on a wreck instead of the actual ship I wanted to hit...I had replayed the video around 30+ times just to see where I gone wrong.
