Wing Foil Surf Heaven in Hawaii
Спорт
Summertime test runs on the final version of the new Cabrinha H series foils we’ve been working on for the past year. Super stoked with how these have been feeling and in love with the added glide and speed a design like this gives you. Can’t wait to test the top end of these things as we start heading into Winter!
For those wondering, I'm riding the 4’6 Autopilot, H800 wing + the 80cm Carbon mast which has become my go to setup in most conditions unless the waves are really slow. Check out more info on the gear I'm riding at www.cabrinha.com

If 500 years ago this dude scooted across the shoreline in front of some natives they would build a mythos about the flying water god and his pet flying manta ray.

Man what a beautiful video. Everything from the filming , the surfing, to the music. Different technology coming together (plus the creators) to make a very pleasing video. The drone flying is smooth as butter and the guy on the board really knows how to use the energy of the wind and sea to do what he wants with it. Love it!

Haha, great to hear and definitely recommend as there's some similarities to windsurfing in terms of handling the wing. It's still a bit of a process to learn if you don't have the foil experience, but I'm sure you'll be addicted like everyone else if you spend the time getting into it! Opens up a whole new world of fun in average waves and bumps
One of my favorite wing foil surf video (if not the best). Carving so smooth, almost no foil pomping in the wave.

This is an unbelievably good video. Your balance and control make it look so easy! I used to windsurf, and then got into sailing catamarans and yachts. I am now going to take up wingfoiling - largely because of your video. I have never actually seen anyone wingfoiling and had only seen a short clip on Tiktok of someone wingfoiling - and then found your video. Wow!

Thanks mate, appreciate the positive comments. Although its still a bit of a learning process, with the sailing and windsurfing background I'm sure you can figure it out. Biggest thing that would help would be learning to foil behind a small boat or jetski or an efoil, then bringing in the wing. Such an amazing feeling riding waves and swells like this once you figure it out

Definitely a fun mix of a few different sports but for me the closest thing to compare it too is tow foiling without needing a jetski. Tow yourself into waves, kill the power and just surf. Such a fun way to ride waves!
The fact you are alone there floating around waves with chill music gives nice vibes.
Like how you can keep your wing behind you and out of your way. Skills man.
@KeahideAboitiz1

Definitely takes some micro-adjustments but having a wing that flies well off the front handle helps a lot. Having a stiff handle like the one on the Mantis makes a big difference for me
@kshred3043
2 жыл бұрын
@@KeahideAboitiz1 Yes, but (dumb newbie question) how do you keep it more or less behind you all the time regardless of your heading ? Seems that you must be foiling a lot faster that the true wind so that your apparent wind is always more or less coming from in front of you..... ?
@KeahideAboitiz1
2 жыл бұрын
@@kshred3043 The main thing that helps is the wind direction as this particular spot is side offshore wind so you are always going slightly into the wind whenever on a wave. In my opinion this is the best direction for wing foiling as it keeps the waves smoother and the wing naturally wants to sit on the best angle. You're also right that I start generating apparent wind especially as the wind can be super up and down here so in the light patches I can ride with it behind me. The Mantis is also a great wing for this as its quite stable on a wave and the stiff front handle also heps a lot with the micro adjustments to keep it flying on the right angle
