Today we are sailing from Antigua to Barbuda. The kids are vegging out and Shayne is enjoying tweaking Paikea as we reach along between 9 and 10 kts. The lack of rudder doesn't hold us back too much in these conditions but you can see it working hard on our Sailmon display.

Good on you for picking up the rubbish!!! if only more people did this. When we stop at any beach in Pittwater, the first thing I do is pick up all the plastic and take it back to the boat-- last week was a huge surf board cover that was clearly going to take another million years to degrade... Your technical stuff is fantastic-- I'm looking at my traveller and main sheet very differently on my 30' cat. Phil

Not a bad way to spend your childhood 😊 Plus they'll be REALLY good at fixing stuff when they are older 😂
On this episode, The Young Barnacles again prove that sailing is the most expensive way (and labour intensive) to go somewhere (most beautiful) for free.

What happened to the UP2/E? What are good spares to carry for them? Would you have preferred the bigger UP3/E?

The single lip seal failed. When it failed it just filled the motor with water and didn't drain. Ended up burning the motor out. No spare parts but we do have a spare pump. Would prefer a bigger pump
