Covering hand is probably best used as a flat cover more like a BUI SAO using the wrist to forearm as a platform to fire with or without a shift. That is not to disagree whatsoever, just HIP INFO (my opinion) 🚫so it’s not a rule thing. But, fook is a fantastic sticky hand. But it’s an even better striking hand when we reach out, cover, scoop, and bring it in only to abandon it for the helping hand becoming YANG from its initial YIN as a helper. What that would look like would be me and you facing, and when you reach with your right hand my left covers your wrist to forearm, but the next level is. HELPING HAND FOOK where I’d be responding with my right back hand on your lead right with a cover, and punch LEFT HAND LEAD over the crook in the elbow. The way I was advocating would have you leaning in to attack actively, with one hand twisted in by the waist and covering, just as energy comes back we shift back to lead stance and forearm right over the top of it. It’s attacking two handed straight up. To go further with that, here is a CODEX. 1. Me and you face. 2. You use a right hand CHEUNG CHOY 3. My left side lead would be normally covering. 4. Except here we cover back right hand by stepping out left or leaning, and as we reset, our left lead hand punches over the back hand cover scoop. This can be done LONG FIST as well. Really great material over here. The reason I shared that was, if they get good at it, they can go underneath the arm or over when they control back hand like that. ㊙️😉🤟💯
