    hello martin, good shot et idea with the "paint light" anyway i would prefer having a reflection through the bottle to see the red color of the wine. In that way i'm not sure that it would be possible to get a paint light on the label... i love your work !

    Great stuff mate . Can this be done with 40 inch octa box ?

  • @botvidsson

    @botvidsson

    4 жыл бұрын

    Hm, at first I was thinking no! But then!! If you cover the octa with something black and make it narrow, then It will work. It will probably also work to cover the center and get two lights on both sides of the bottle, don't forget to put up the diffusions on the sides of the bottle to get a nice gradient.

    Question, how important is a strip light for something like this vs a square softbox? I'm trying to figure out what modifiers I should invest in next for my set up...

  • @botvidsson

    @botvidsson

    2 жыл бұрын

    I would say that strip boxes are very useful but you can also use soft boxes and block one edge and then you can use them as strip boxes.

    Amazing KZread channel, I have 2 questions for you, could I also make a rim ligth with another stripbox from behind instead of a sheet of paper to shape the bottle like in the video? And why many photographers use stripboxes over softboxes? is it because the light source is more thinner and you don't want it to spread too much? or is it better for glasses, wine, beer? Thank you so much and hope to be replied soon.

  • @botvidsson

    @botvidsson

    6 жыл бұрын

    Thanks Diego. Absolutely, you can use a stripbox from behind to make a rim-light like I did, just make sure that you place it far far back. It's like you wrote, stripboxes are good if you need to have more control over the light. Not to spread too much. Also popular for bottles when lighting from the front like I did in the beginning of the video. BUT... it is possible to use regular softboxes too, you just need to angle them more, that will make the softbox more like a stripbox. It will make the softbox more narrow, just like a stripbox. In an upcoming episode I will show how that is done. Thanks for subscribing! Stay tunes for more tutorials. All the best /Martin
