Windsurfing is THE hardest wind/water sport to be really good at… as I said before I am back after 20 odd years and yesterday at my local Gwithian I got a lesson by a 9 years old (10yo in a month) lil’ French dude! He s been windsurfing since he was 2.5yo and was sailing like an absolute star! Windsurfing is definitely not dead and to be honest the community is way nicer than the surfing one so yeah I don’t mind, I actually admire Kai Lenny… power to him!

Antoine has never held the speed record it's my speed record at 53.7,, knots average speed at an authorised speed trial event in 1987 no one has ever beaten this in real time accurate speed measurement anywhere authorised ever ,keep trying ,and then you're just using a GPS to measure the speed which is inaccurate and counts for nothing but a GPS record ,have a go at the real record which is mine untill beaten on a real level,great stuff keep going, .Perry Lee Quinn ,Australia.

Not a question of saving it… windsurfing will always be windsurfing to me. Do we need more people.. not really. It’s cool if it’s a niche sport. But I still like the way Kai is putting it in front of lots of people from other sports and it helps give it the credibility it deserves.. my opinion of course 😁

I think Kai Lenny got a lot of influence and if he presents windsurfing like that, it is perfect for us! I think, windsurfing can get big again because it got that really special feeling... We just need to reach more people! My brother (it's Simon the windsurfer -> thank's for showing our clip 😊) will make a journey with his class to Brouwersdam to learn windsurfing! I think, our sport should regulary get a place in the education system😁!

@@J_F_R_Sports Mike Myers who owned Sailboard Headquarters in melbourne ran windsurfing classes for school children for decades and he claimed he never got one child come back to the shop and take up windsurfing. The world has changed.

@@mindofown I don't think so, maybe windsurfing is just too expansive but it has ever been a hard sport to learn. In the beginning, it can be kind of boring, but guys like Kai Lenny show it's spirit if you reach a higher level! So I think that social media can make windsurfing bigger again...
