Windsurfing Boom Regrip
Carbon boom regrip.
The grip on this Neil Pryde RS:X 225-265 boom was replaced with a smaller Severne Enigma 150-200 boom grip and a piece of Chinook boom grip. This was a successful alternative to using the manufacturer's grip, which was not available.
The Severne grip is a quality high density EVA foam, at about 2mm thick. The black Chinook boom grip is just 1mm thick, and does not feel quite as durable.

nice, thatˋs the way I did it several ties now too. I used regular gasoline to remove the glue. Letting it rest in the sun for a while also helps. I used Cork insulation (1.5mm) as new grip material.
Definitely need a garage workshop to do this
Great job and nicely edited video James! 🤙

Thanks! Good luck with your regrip project.
Nice job. Have saved cause I’m sure the moment will arise, only thing is my main boom is a vgrip so sure that adds some minor tweaks to the process of wrapping.
Very Nice

You make it look easy. I have done and find it difficult to get it nice and straight.

Yes, the first part of attaching it to the boom can be tricky to get it straight. Rather than doing it by eye, you could try first running some masking tape down the middle of the grip and use that as a guide to keep it straight.
Great job. Where did you source the new grip?
