I would suggest, before you take anything apart, have someone press the button, while you look under the hood to see how far the windshield fluid makes it, in mines, I saw fluid coming out of the heat shield, so I knew I had to take it off to get to it.

Your video helped me fix this same problem in my 2020 1500. Thanks. Used a fork to get the clip off.

Because of your video I was able to pinpoint where my tubing was disconnected. I only had to remove 3 clips to solve the problem! Done in 5 minutes and saved my wallet and time.

Also, if you break some of the clips, like I did, you can buy similar ones that work perfectly at, advance auto parts, it’s referenced “Toyota Hood Installation retainers.

Man, you guys are awesome. I was just troubleshooting mine today and I noticed fluid. Coming from under the heat shield I’m just trying to figure out a way to not break my little retaining clips when I take it off so I can put everything back but I know I’ll have a similar problem once I get the heat shield off

I had to use a pry tool to get them off. You may have to get some extra replacement clips if some break.

Same issue on my 2021 Ram 1500. Will fix this weekend. Thank you 😊

I had a similar issue, 2019 ram 1500, removing the clips from the heat shield was a pain, I had to buy some new ones to replace the broken ones.

Same happened to mine. Had to buy all new clips, not sure how it happened because it worked then after 6 months popped off. Even with that tool those clips are a nightmare to get out. And always need to be replaced, literally just fixed mine. Silicone in place where they connect, but the T fittings the hose fits in really snug how it should, not sure at all how it popped off on mine either. Maybe from pressure in the system or heat and cold makes it expand and contract on the T fitting…

Man,.. i cant thank you enough for making this video. I live up in Michigan and have the same problem right now and am heading out to Texas for a fishing trip. If you have any advice on texas largemouth bass bait, behavior, spots in mid April that'd be greatly appreciated!

Unfortunately I don't know too much about fishing but I do know that Lake Livingston, Lake Conroe, and Lake Livingston are good areas to fish around here at least. Not sure if any of these lakes have any largemouth but the Texas State Parks website may have more info.

A couple of them broke so I bought some replacements. They do break easily! You might want to purchase a pry tool kit to get the old ones off. Hope this helps!

Yes, it was just the hose that came disconnected. It's working now.

How did you put the heat shield back on?

It snaps back in place with plastic clips. Note: You may have to buy a set of new ones because some of the old clips do break after prying them off the heat shield.

You can buy the advance auto parts, toyota hood installation retainer, part 963-520D, it worked on my 2019 ram

I have a 2019 Ram 1500 with the same problem. It's just a poor design. After the second time one of the hoses disconnect, I too, used electrical tape at the junction points.

I'm not sure how long you've had the problem but your windshield wiper fluid could have frozen and when it expanded knocked the tube loose.

That is VERY possible. Glad it's fixed now and all I basically needed extra was more heat shield clips. Those darn things were hard to get off but easy to put new ones back on. Enjoy your evening Dennis! 👍👍
