Microsoft had absolutely done perfect Aero for Windows 8 ( 4:19 ) But what do we have? We have Win8 UI, which looks like it's made in MSPaint just in 5 minutes! I still can't understand why didn't they implement Aero as an addition to RTM version. Mobile devices weren't so slow to be unable to render this. And if they were, why didn't they make a basic theme? Microsoft, as always, made a [__] out of good product and lost all the possibilities.

Back then, people would build PCs just for vista and 7 and they would draw like 200 watts just for gpu acceleration ---- probably. That reason is mostly gone now. Now that a lot of desktop computers are very efficient and consume like 10 watts at desktop, bringing it back as an option just sounds so fun.

Win8 attempted to emulate smartphones and tablets - stupid because a desktop or laptop is not a puny touchsreen device, it doesn't need to work around UI problems which aren't present Win10 embedded forced updates, telemetry Win11 embedded reinforced updates, telemetry, and advertising Every version after Win7 has been increasingly anti-consumer. Because Microsoft has realized that they can milk their market monopoly.

There is aero on Windows 11.Just go advanced startup options pressing shift while restaring and open cmd (it is aero😊)

I've always liked the "look" of Windows 3.1 GUI - simple, but cool :) Win 9.x was good too, and Aero from Vista/7 was the best looking Windows GUI in my opinion. In later versions of Windows they made a step back...

windows 8.x and 10 have ugliest window frame design ever made but I still like the metro UI, aero design (vista and 7) have the best looking of all time, XP's luna and royale theme has special place in my heart, Fluent UI is kinda modern approach of Aero but shame they didn't implement it system-wide

I love the notepads of Windows 7 & 10 & latest 11 (with tabbed pages). This 'old' notepad on Windows 11 is just no better than the one in Windows 8.

Notepad is Underrated

Whistler build 2419 is still my favorite followed by win98/2000. Also the song has serious remilla vibes, love it.

Can't believe Microsoft went backwards with the GUI, ever since Windows 8 it looked more horrible, I would rather have the Windows 98/ME/2000 classic theme than the flat dull ugly look of Windows 8/10/11.
