Hello! I see that you're only installing OSes on your channel. I was always a tech guy, so I love to watch this! Are you planning to do something else than just Installing OSes? Or you could try installing Phone OSes, like custom roms and stuff. Anyway, you just got yourself another sub

Thank you and welcome! At first the plan was just to install the systems themselves, but I plan to make videos exploring the systems in the future, maybe step by step tutorials, and maybe about Phones in the future. But as incredible as it sounds, the list of OS is immense.

@@installos That's great! The list could get endless. All of the Linux Distros, Things like Rectify11, OSes that are not based on anything popular (TempleOS for example). I'd love to see you explore the world of phones as well, but I'm not sure how would that work because I wasn't ever able to install android, neither custom roms to a virtual machine.

@@_teddy0008 Wow, templeOS is interesting, I have it on the list here too, I have others like plan9, QNX, IRIX... About android, these I'll study how to do, possibly in an emulator like genymotion or android studio.

I miss windows 2000, it was so simple and clean looking !

I wish you showed and explained more like what type of software to use, how to connect the device and to what devices or computer OS, what cables you used, etc.etc . lots of these older devices using WinCE have a CR2032 CMOS battery to keep date, when the battery dies, the device won't run. How to set system date when replacing the battery? With external keyboard? With what BIOS keyboard keys? My device happens to have a CF (Compact Flash) card slot to run the app, on WindowsCE.

In fact, all the videos recorded on the channel are virtualized, I use several virtualizers or emulators to run the system and record the videos. Unfortunately I don't have access to specific hardware, such as Silicon Graphics computers to run the IRIX system.

Can I give a suggestion? For older OSes, try correcting the aspect ratio to 4:3 during the text-based part of installation, as this is how the installer would've been seen by a user of the OS back then

All my experiences with windows CE devices were in 16:9 ratio. So I'd say it's a valid demonstration. People forget but before Ipod touch changed the game, many handheld devices from late 2000s used windows CE as operating system. Especially Japanese and Korean handheld devices like Sharp SP600 and Cowon V5. I was in my highschool during those times and since my school banned use of personal laptops, we relied on windows CE handhelds or standard windows umpc without dedicated keyboards to get by the rules.

Will this work on an Android tablet.

Some games used wince as a runtime operating system for DirectX(direct3d) support on the Dreamcast, wince was not the only possible "operating system" and the normal gui / interface didn't run on wince. The Dreamcast was amazing😮

Apparently Kia and Hyundai infotainment units run Windows CE as a backend, Honda runs Android, not too sure about other manufacturers, but I’m guessing most run Linux
