Far too complex for average computer users. Doesn't Microsoft vet these features with non geeks? On top of the complexity, they change the names of items in menus so you have to figure out where to go by trial and error.

I agree its ridicoulous how hard it is It used to be easy under Windows 7 or 8 It should be a matter of a few clicks and its done

Finally, a thorough, thoughtful and complete tutorial on the subject! I opened this tutorial on both my Win10 and Win11 computers and literally stepped through each step in succession. The only difference I made is rather than create a share file on each computer, I made a single share folder which is now accessible on three shared computers. Any file dropped into the folder is immediately available on the other two. I love it when a plan (finally) comes together!

@@warpampee Once you create a shared folder on one computer which can be access on the other computer, that's all. You can use that folder to share files between the two computers just like using external drive or usb drive.

In twenty-five years of working on Windows computers it is maddening how inconsistent finding PCS on the network can be. Sometimes they show up, sometimes they never show up.

Wow! After many years of unsuccessful attempts ... this tutorial finally made clear how to connect 2 PCs on the same wireless network - Awesome! THX!

THANK YOU! It worked. Since Home Group went away in the lastest WIN10/WIN11 versions I couldn't share my files. I had to email them. Now I can share again!

I disagree, My screens on the latest updates of Windows 10, look niothing like the ones in the video, has SOME of the same info, but no Domain or work group option, and its one window, no broken up like his is into panels inside the window.

For a while my pc could not locate the other device. I recalled configuring one of my network guest addresses to not allow visitors to discover/see any of my network devices but access to internet only. Once I switched to a network address without that setting, this worked as planned. Thanks again...good stuff.

I spent an entire day trying to set up network sharing and I am an advanced user. I could not believe how frustrating and ridiculous this was! Then I threw up my hands and surrendered to the KZread gods... and found this video. You are now my KZread gods! THANK YOU FOR THE PERFECT TUTORIAL!

This video actually helped me do this. I've been trying to get the damn computers to show up in the network, and they never did, but the shortcuts and the hidden "All Networks" properties at the bottom helped tremendously. Microsoft really doesn't want you to own your own network.

Thank you so much! I had problem with my laptop which could not see my computer even though the setup was fine. My computer could see my laptop but not the other way around. When you give the tip to create a shortcut at around 7-8 min, that did the job. I looked so many times to find a solution. Thank you for giving the troubleshooting after setting up the parameters. 😊
