Greatly appreciated sir! This very aggressive move by MicroSoft to force users to onedrive is pushing me very close to switching permanently to linux.

Thanks One drive literally screwed me over today hard basically getting rid of all my files so now I'm fresh so it need to be gone forever.

Just to clarify, uninstalling OneDrive *will not get rid of any of your synced data.* Deleting apps that haven't already come from the installation process or anywhere else would basically not be allowed (or so that's what I think). I've uninstalled OneDrive, it does not get rid of anything it's synced with. Everything will now download to your computer and not OneDrive, thanks to *MDTechVideos.*

@@shacochad7052 well OneDrive continuously tries to make you buy storage, even sometimes locking your own applications behind a wall where you can't get it, they use this as a way to "remind you" to buy more storage even though you don't need it. It's Hella scummy

@@firecaps3140 Dropbox was pretty good back in the day. It provides more than that pathetic 5gb and you can expand by inviting other people to use it with referral links. The beauty of it was that I personally chose which files I wanted to backup in the cloud. None of that OneDrive trash where it vacuums everything in sight until the day you realize it causes compatibility issues with many apps that use documents locations, as well as being full quickly and holding files ransom for $6.99/mo. to expand space.

You are my new hero! This was exactly what I needed in totally unscary and clearly understood terms. Thank you!

@@andrejv5330 For me none of my files got deleted when I uninstalled Onedrive so you should be fine and pause syncing with onedrive to your pc just to make sure

im surprised how a 3 year old video helped me uninstall it in like 10 seconds other videos are telling me to download like a app thank you so much!!!!

Thank you so much! Onedrive takes up 10% of my CPU usage just at idle and when I initially turned off backup, all of my shortcuts and documents just disappeared! I had no idea it wasn't going to my storage by default

Thank you. Just for clarification, once you follow the procedure does it delete the OneDrive account and all files in it, or just stop the continued syncing and automatic uploading to the OneDrive cloud account. In other words, if I later re-establish my OneDrive account will those files still be there? (I hope not. I just want to make sure those files are completely deleted and not floating around out there. I'm happy keeping them on my local computer and backing up to an external hard drive.) Thanks!

Honestly I was happy for some time with this app, it gave security for my work files, but one time I disabled it thinking it was the cause of Win10 desktop icons becoming blank. The results were unexpectedly worse, all the files and apps that were apparently uploaded to OneDrive by OneDrive itself simply disappeared from my PC. Makes no sense, because all of that data was installed/saved on my computer, but somehow by disabling OneDrive I got rid of all that data with it. The most odd thing is that I never uninstalled OneDrive, just turned it off and it decided to disappear as well along with my personal data. What the fuck?????? luckily I found a way to reinstall this piece of garbage and recover my files. To this moment I do not understand how can this program hold control over files that are on my PC???? I'm saving everything important onto my USB and getting rid of this awful app once and for all time. Thanks Microsoft, another gem. As if the OS isn't bad enough....

I've yet to uninstall one drive but how to get my data back can u suggest any ways ?

It’s duplicating more like quadlicating my files making my computer so slow

Slight problem though, when looking for onedrive in programs and features etc. it doesn't appear anywhere on my computer even though it's clearly visible on my computer (even in task manager) and even though right now it's apparently having "sync problems" there's no way I see to completely get rid of it, so wanted to know if there's another way to get rid of it that doesn't include downloading some software tool etc.?

Jeez having some trouble solving this issue for some time , thanks for the video man saves me a lot of time

Can I just clarify, if I delete onedrive, will everything return to the "my documents folder", right now the "my documents folder" just says "see where your files are and then takes you to one drive. If I delete onedrive I just want to know if I first have to back up my stuff that is on one drive or is what is on one drive just a sync of what is in "my documents" ?

Thank you so much for making this, Microsoft One Drive is so terrible if you are a full time student and have to save any files. It always comes up with upload errors with microsoft word when it tries to upload to the cloud, this then disables the save icon at the top and sets it only to the cloud which will not work when it errors out, you basically cannot save a word doc anymore unless you go all the way through save as and rename one in a folder somewhere which is such a waste of time and not practical with many paper changes and revisions. Thanks for helping get rid of this cloud!

I just got a new laptop, and setting it up for the first time. I see all my programs from my main desktop I don’t want anything from my main desktop on my laptop do I have to uninstall OneDrive to remove everything or do I have to do a reset of the whole laptop to wipe it clean fresh if I do that how do I get it to not sync anything from my desktop? Or do I have to go on my desktop and uninstall one drive so this won’t ever happen again if I get another pc ?

so i did that, just automatically on disabled for now, but for example many pictures is on one drive and i cant see them, it just drops a notice that i need to turn on my od. But with od i still couldnt open them... If i delete one drive for programs, will i never be able to get back any of my files that i cant open now ? im so annoyed

One drives keeps making my laptop lag a lot and i cant import my artworks because of full storage :) so i always have to save it on my cloud storage on the editing/drawing app im using and save it on my phone :D this is really helpful.

Thank you! This program is really the devil. I had no idea why everything on my computer was running properly except basic windows functions like opening file explorer or settings, but I found a website that said it could be OneDrive. Because I couldn't open my settings I couldn't use your method, but knowing I needed to uninstall it, I just used iObit Uninstaller which I already had, and literally as soon as it was finished it fixed all the issues I was having.

Thanks for your help, really appreciate it. One drive is like google drive except you need to pay for it and less space than google drive. It was a nightmare that it always slow down my computer cpu. Like get the hell out of here one drive no one want you here.
