Wind In My Sails - Dr. Crawford Loritts

Dr. Crawford Loritts reminds us that faith in the Bible does not deny the reality of challenging times, but it does defy them. In this powerful talk, we are reminded to lift our eyes to the One who is greater and to choose truth, joy, faith, community and service.

At Passion City Church, we believe that because God has displayed the ultimate sacrifice in Jesus, our response to that in worship must be extravagant. It is our privilege, and our created purpose, to reflect God’s Glory to Him through our praise, our sacrifice, and our song.

Beautiful message of hope. I love Crawford's following lengthy quote: “One of the problems that we as Christians in our society and in our culture is that the Bible has become a point of reference rather than the context of our lives…When we get between a rock and a hard place, we pick and choose an ala carte truth, where you have to make a decision that the Bible, God’s Word, is ‘Hear me, Hear me Hear me,’ your life. You have to decide that.” - Dr Crawford Loritts

Joy is not involuntary. So few people grasp that joy is separated from our circumstances. Love the reference to Hebrews 11. This is so rarely preached. This is how I more than endured... through Jesus I overcame. The whole concept of faith, joy, and community. I wish you had been at our Bible Study tonight. You would have been a wonderful addition. Your perspective would have been so welcome.
