I bought this in a 20 guage. I like how it handles, love the engraving on it and the wood stock. It shoots great. I have two SXPs in 12 guage and they all handle whatever you put in it. So easy to break down and clean when needed.

I love mine. I use it for Dove, Squirrel, Pheasant, and turkey too

Yes, it had one in the barrel and two others were loose in those little plastic tubes.

Wow I LOVE this version... I have a Realtree camo one and I love it but this looks like it should be fired off of horseback!

OBS I got the hybrid! Just got a Choate magazine tube extension taking the capacity up to 10 and I LOVE this gun!

Can you add swivel stud for a sling on this gun?

Yes, but you drill tap and thread the swivel stud into the end cap of the magazine tube, not the fore end.

I am considering this gun for my first shotgun. As silly as it seems, I did wonder if this Shotgun was just for small game and birds. I am looking for a nice looking all around Shotgun.

It has removable chokes, to allow for multiple types of 12 ga rounds. I have shot slugs, 00 buck shot, high brass pheasant loads, and target loads. You should be able to hunt anything with it you would a 12 ga, as long as you get a 12 ga of course. I would say it excels for birds and small game though. I do suggest going with a model with a painted receiver though. The nickel plating is delaminating on the inside of my action now after a couple years of use, but it does still work. I use this gun for everything, and it seems to do good for me. But mostly target clays and pheasant hunting. After the delaminating of the nickel plating though, I think I would go with the Remington 870 or Mossberg 500 if they were in my price range and available. But even with the minor issues, it’s going strong still.

My 12ga sxp has problem after 5 rounds from new slider stuck and the sell inside the chamber, when disassembly to remuve shell noticed the pin was out and fell from the triger group, and the slider also stuck same how you showing on minute 5:40. Hope you can tell what is wrong with my sxp, thanks.

Thanks for watching this. The slide sticking before coming out is normal so that the gun doesn’t just fall to pieces when disassembly. But the retaining pin should not fall out on its own. I will have to look at mine again and get back to you on that.

Just to be sure, your gun was brand new? The pin holding the trigger group should not be able to just fall out, because there is a retention spring in the trigger group that holds it in place. As for the stuck shell, that may have been just a fluke or bad ammo. How does the extractor look. Does it show signs of wear?

You are right, sorry about that. They provided a choke tube wrench and they just screw in. I suggest making sure the threads are lubed with a good rust preventative and shake it once a year and re-lube it. It’s been a good gun overall. The front sight came loose and I had to re-tighten it. And on the inside of the action, the nickel plating is peeling in a couple areas. The gun still works flawlessly. I’d buy one again without the nickel plating, if I found a really good deal on it. I probably would go a different direction if I was paying full price to be honest.

I believe so. Everything should be the same for attachment between the models. I don’t have experience with that personally though.

It’s doing well over all. I had to retighten the front site, and the nickel plating has a couple spots on the inside of the action that flaked off. Other than that, it’s worked flawless. I think I’d get a Mossberg 500 or an older Remington 870 next time. I am not a fan of the inertia driven action. Not because it doesn’t work or it’s bad, I just can’t get used to it for some reason. I would not tell anyone not to buy one, it is a good shotgun.

I can honestly say I’ve been liking it more and more. I recently went to a sporting clay course with it and the misses that I had were all on me, and the gun never let me down. My only real issue was forgetting to load the gun between shots on rounds of 8. It wasn’t the most refined shot gun in the group, and looked like the red headed step child next to some of the Brownings. But there wasn’t a clay that it couldn’t hit when it was aimed correctly. I even had comments on how fast it handled for a pump. The only negative item so far is that My wife does not like the firm recoil and refused to shoot it ever again. I’ve had no issues with buck shot, bird shot, or slugs. I haven’t had any malfunctions yet either. I would buy another one without thinking twice. I admittedly would still like a finely made shot gun some day, but in the end, it does the same job this workhorse does.
