I've never bought brass case 7.62x39, for my AK, but I've also never ran steel through my ARs. A place for everything and everything has its place.

I get brass for practically the same price (not winchester) and they work better in the AR platform. More accurate too ( again, not winchester).

That's really odd but I have the same issue with 7.62X39mm Fiocchi ammo in my BCA AR. It will shoot Federal soft points into 1/2'' groups at 50 yards and Fiocchi (which is good ammo in my CZ527) groups into 7'' at 50 yards. Wolfe & Tula will shoot into 1''-1 1/2'' at 50 yards.

Dang and I thought 6" at 100 with this Winchester was bad lol. My .300blk does not like Federal, my 5.56 loves Fiocchi...

@@BuckeyeBallistics It's just weird. I don't understand it. The Fiocchi ammo shoots 1 1/2'' groups in my CZ527 but 7'' in the BCA AR and that is at 50 yards. Most everything I shoot out of both rifles is 122, 123 or 124 gr & a couple of old 150 gr loads like Wolfe and Bernaul. I think it must have to do with the powder as the bullet weight is the same and the construction (Lead and copper not copper washed steel) as the other loads

Is your rifle a .308 bore 7.62x39? Most are .311, which might explain the 300 black eating the one load but the x39 rifle hating it

I'm not sure, good question. Though I have got a couple loads to group under 2" at 100 yards which is pretty dang good for a non free-floated barrel in a bottom of the barrel milspec budget gun. Now you got me wondering if some of those loads have slightly different bullet diameters. If I still had them all I'd measure...

Please test Aguila super sniper 60 grain subs. I think a ballistic gel test would be fun

I don't think my 10/22 will stabelize those but maybe my buddy Boomstick has a rifle with the right rate of twist. I always read those shoot like crap out of most 22's for this reason. I'll look into it...

@@BuckeyeBallistics I am running them thru two rifles with 1-16 barrels - one a Henry lever and the other a savage bolt. At 50 yards, I get decent accuracy and they do hit hard

BC=0.245 is quite low for a typical 7.62x39 mm

You need an SKS

@CW - I do, got a few hundred now. And yeah Boom doesn't pick up his brass so I do lol. That is, on the rare occasion he's shooting something besides .22lr 😅
