Your looking at it from the perspective of it only being the first video opposed to jimmy being in mia for 5 seasons and being 33 years old. Best move was to trade jimmy while his value was at its highest rather than keeping him to fight for a 5th seed and NOT win a ring.

I do love these rebuilds. It inspired me to get back in to them. I ran a Nets rebuild, ran 2023 the way it was and lost, so 2024 I kept Simmons and Kyrie, but traded KD for Scottie straight up. Figured it was decently realistic since Scottie has dropped majorly from his rookie year, and the Raptors get KD to try and win now. Won that year vs the Pelicans.

Duncan Robinson’s final yr is only like half gtd. $19,888,000 but only $9,888,000 gtd. It is a player option so he can opt out, but I assume MIA would waive and stretch him (like 3.3M/yr for 3yrs) or they’d dump him to someone since that team can waive him for $9,888,000. So ya obv it’s a horrific contract…but they can prolly dump it in 24-25 since a team can waive him for $9,888,000 in 25-26 and not have to pay the $19,888,000 so it’d be way cheaper. Also the TV $ starts flowing in 25-26. It won’t be one massive like 35% cap spike or whatever, but they’ll smooth it to where it’ll prolly have the cap go up like idk, at least 10% 3 straight years or something. So MIA can prolly trade him in a big trade like after 23-24 as salary filler and they’d have to attach extra for sure, but not like it would be now. If they wanted to trade Duncan and an expiring for Bojan at this deadline, they’d prolly have to give up a lot. Bojan is gonna fetch a 1st, then it’ll take AT LEAST a 1st to get off of Duncan. It’d prolly have to be like Duncan, Dedmon, 2023 unprotected 1st, then they owe OKC a 1st so the next 1st they could move would be 2028. So ya I think it’d have to be Duncan, Dedmon, and 2023/2028 unprotected 1sts. And I still honestly dunno if DET would even do that lol. Especially bc Miami always seems to be good so you’d rather have picks from worse franchises. Like I think if BKN offered DET Joe Harris and their own 2028 unprotected 1st they’d do that since Harris only has one more yr left on his deal. Went on a tangent but ya that Duncan deal is only partially gtd for $9,888,000 in the final yr. 2K seems to not be able to do partial guarantees.

As it stands, gotta just keep building around Herro RJ Bam Saddiq. That’s the core. I’d look to move Jerami bc of his age, move Boucher, and upgrade at PG if possible. Yurtseven is cool at backup 5, DSJr backup PG is fine as long as he doesn’t regress. But ya it’s Herro RJ Saddiq Bam 2-5, DSJr and Yurtseven off the bench…then everyone else I’d prolly look to move unless I’m missing someone good and young. I think you can upgrade on Tre. Maybe start Saddiq at the 4, and trade Jerami and Tre for a starting PG and a good bench guy.

Enjoying the series alot, but slightly worried that in each series you have hopped in more and more, and those are kind of artificially helping beyond building the teams, and taking away from the realism. Keep up the good work, but I would personally enjoy it more if you hopped in only in non key or elimination games if you do, so they don't influence the whole playoffs.

Why do you not mess with the touch tendency as well? If you want your best player to shoot more than you'll also want them to get more touches. Or like doing role players who shoot alot could get an 80 shot and 70 touch tendency

I prolly would’ve just ran it straight up with Jimmy year 1, maybe make a trade deadline move to try and get a little better. Then if you don’t make a deep playoff run, I’d trade Butler for a young guy maybe some picks. Then use Lowry’s expiring to get cheaper, maybe trade it for some 2nds and a couple smaller expiring deals that’d be easier to move. Basically get cheaper. Also 2K has the picks messed up. I get it bc they don’t go that far out…but MIA owns their own ‘23 and ‘24 picks. Then they owe their ‘25 1st lotto protected to OKC (if it doesn’t convey it becomes unprotected in ‘26). So if 2K didn’t mess up you could’ve used your 23 1st to improve at the deadline. Also once I blew it up I’d consider moving Herro. It’s super hard to build around him as a SG who can’t rlly defend. Trade away like Strus and Martin and all those role guys for picks. Then build around whatever you get for Butler, Herro, obviously keeping Bam, then should get a 1st each for guys like Strus and Martin. Then you should be way cheaper without Lowry, Butler, Martin, Oladipo (I’d trade him if he opts in or if it lets you sign and trade him for a 2nd or something) and if you have cap, ppl love to come to Miami in FA.

Does it matter if you net the increases with the decreases (i.e. bump butler up 10 but decrease another player by 10). Maybe it has no effect but could be interesting if you compare that to a team where you bump everyone up and everyone down etc
