Started feeling extremely depressed and had enough. Remembered this and thought "might as well give it a try, can't feel worse than how I feel already". Stepped out of the shower that day feeling like I could take on the world.

Scientists do not want to research things that make us healthy unless there is profit in it and theres no profit in telling people to take cold showers, it costs nothing. I love your work Wim, you are an inspiration to us all.

It's the same thing with pharmaceutical companies, hospitals, and governments. They do not want healthy people. As you said, there is NO money in healthy people. I don't understand how more people do not know this.

Overgeneralizing, scientist have looked into this. There are good scientists out there who research for the greater good and not profit, it's just drowned out by the bullshit just like how they don't advertise healthy foods but bombard us with unhealthy crap in America. Don't say scientist, instead say some scientists as you dont want to overgeneralize

The effect really is amazing. There is actually a lot of ppl who smirk on you when you tell them about the power of the cold shower and all the positive effects it has. Kind of sad - for them. Anyone else experiencing a glowing ball in the center of your focus after stepping out of the shower? For like 1 min or so. Kinda weird

Warm up first, too! I always find that either hot water or some light exercise to warm me up makes the cold more appealing. Huberman says that you only need to make yourself uncomfortably cold for 11 minutes a week to increase your dopamine baseline.

Ok folks. I have been having cold showers for nearly two weeks now. Around 5/6 times a week. Initial 3 showers was quite difficult. But now I have become used to it and I don't feel the cold anymore. It's as if I don't feel cold, as if it's warm water. Now, is that abnormal ? Am I not supposed to feel the cold to get the full benefit ? Is that not the whole point of it i.e. to feel the cold ? Can anyone explain. Thanks

For whatever it's worth. What helped me adjust to the cold water was to spin in the shower so no part of your body is getting pelted with the cold continuously. After I spin about 10 times with each spin taking 2-3 seconds I'm able to stop spinning and let the cold water focus on different parts of my body.

I’ve been doing the breathing exercises first thing in the morning then “trying” to take a cold shower for 1 week. I found this video this morning, and was listening to it during my shower,,,then Wim gets in the cold shower, so I quickly turned mine on and used him as my guide,,,so proud of myself I lasted the whole time plus a little more 💪🏼,,, this helped me not chicken out and keep focused! I will use this as a tool to stay in the cold shower. First time a cold shower , I lasted 10 seconds and cramped up. Now it’s a totally different experience. Blessing to all,,, be kind and stay safe😉

I tried the cold shower but could only handle about 5 seconds before abruptly cutting the water off, swearing and gasping for air. In my next shower I managed 10 seconds. The next shower, low and behold, I did 30 seconds. The next day I did a full minute, then a minute ten seconds the next day. Each time when I am done, it feels like my brain was just rebooted. I always start laughing when toweling off because I feel giddy, energized, and amazing! Now my goal is to reach 2 minutes and do it every day.

I tried this for the first time this morning. We have a well and cold ground water. It was very shocking at first, but I persisted and within a minute it stopped being shocking and slowly stopped being cold. 18 months ago I had a moderate stroke, with no permanent damage. Since then though I have had pain in fingers and toes. This seems to help! I can do anything for 30 days and will build to 10 minute cold showers and see what happens! Any others with similar experience please reply/ share!

Wim is inspiration and what a gift to the world. THANK YOU Wim. 🙏🏽 I live in a very hot region so I get cold easily BUT I am definitely going to do this. Not try but definitely slowly get into like you suggested. I started last night already but I think that was for probably 10 seconds and I was dizzy 🥴🥴🤣🤣. Today is cold but 30 seconds here I come 🤪

Thank you Wim. I must try to cope with my depression. I know it will be tough at the beginning but I will do as you teach. First times warm water and then cold water for half a minute and slowly day by day up a little. I really admire your work and I follow you even if the breathing technique is hard when under anxiety or depressive state. Maybe I should first get into the shower and then slowly start the breathing exercises when I get better. Namastè.

its quite amazing I've been doing this for 2 weeks and I feel much more on an even keel, my mood remains good I don't slip into negative thoughts I just feel good all the time I start of warm and after washing I turn to cold for about 1 to 2 minutes, then when I get out my mind is with me not all over the place. Also if you stand long enough you become climatized to the cold and it feels better than the warm and you can feel tingles in your body like you are being switched on make sure if you do this be careful to go by the way Wim instructs you. You don't have to jump straight into the cold but if you can you may become like the Iceman good luck stay safe stay strong

Day 3 of cold shower. I went straight into the cold and didn’t do the proper breathing, felt like fainting as whim said. I stayed in for 60 seconds. Excited to see the difference with focusing on long breaths. Definitely like a switch when your body adjusts to the cold.
