    Notice that Wilt's Big Dipper team has four players while the opposition has six. According to the great volleyball player and Wilt's friend, Gene Selznick, the reason the Big Dippers had only four was so that they didn't have to rotate, allowing Wilt to stay upfront.

    I agree! I was quite disappointed of Wilt in this tiny footage snippet, 4 against 6 or not, seen better effort from a rock.... - that surely couldn't be his best

    I'm 58 and still play when I can. I give blocking every effort. Wilt isn't doing that here, no matter his age.

    Wow that was hard to watch. Insane how much the sport has grown. No lie, there are dozens of current U16 clubs that would destroy these teams.

    Chase Budinger did pro basketball and volleyball too. On the basketball court, Budinger wasn't great; but, on the beach, Budinger is a stud! There are other examples : Bo Jackson, Deion Sanders, Tim Tebow (baseball and football), Dave Winfield, Chris Bahr, James Jett, Ray Edwards, etc.

    @@choward5430 Okay, but Budinger was also retired when he became a pro volleyball player. But, yes. CHAMBERLAIN took on volleyball later on. Which explains why his abilities weren't on par with other players he shared the court with.

    People saying he had a 50 inch vert, just no way man. He would make a 25inch vert look effortless. He looks like he cant even get to 35inch

    His max reach recorded was 13 ft in college, there’s an nba article of the refs at the time saying he could touch 13ft 3 which makes his vert around 40-44 inches

    @@Ehh-nx7nk Never happened. I saw him play every game as a Laker and he never got above 12 1/2. In college, he tried to dunk on a 12 foot rim and it took him many attempts. Maybe he touched 13 feet in 1965 in Philly. Based on a high school photo, they estimate that he could touch 9 feet 7 without jumping but I saw a photo of him almost touching the rim (within one inch). Say, 36-38 inches max.

    @@DrJohnnyJ well according to the Wilt Chamberlain archive he had his max reach measured 3 times, the first one was in college and it was measured at 12ft 9. Then one in his first season in the nba and it was measured over 13 feet. Then one was when he played for the lakers and it was 12ft 6

    Not really, the video title say this is summer 1972, and in august 1972 Wilt was like 36 (he was born august 21 1936).

    @Angel Vollant if you want him front row all the time, you would have to play with just 3 guys. Beside the fact, that it would be against the rules if you play with just 4, and beside the fact that the disadvantage you got with 2 players less is to hugh to win a game. If Wilt don't block like in this game he would be pretty useless front row no? 😂

    @@raiky3259 this was a coed exhibition league Wilt started and played in so people came to watch. The rules are whatever he said they would be. They played 4v6 and Wilt just played front left the whole time, he never rotated.

    @@cliffworsfold1994 age is totally relevant, except he really should be using better form BECAUSE he's older. Also a dunk approach is basically the same as a hitter's approach so not sure why he's jumping like that. I want to imagine that he was a novice player at this point... because he's definitely playing like a novice.
