As a novice golfer, I always assumed that I wasn't good enough to be able to distinguish between different types of golf ball. A while back I was taking some lessons and my teacher told me that sooner or later I would find a ball that I did notice a difference in and that would be a part of my game improving. That process began when I bought some of the Costco balls. I didn't really know why but I was certain that I didn't like them lol. They felt heavy off the club and no matter what I did, I just could not hit them as far as the other balls I had in my bag. I then tried some Callaway Supersoft balls and BINGO. I instantly could notice a difference and I went on to order about 10 dozen and stock them in my closet lol. Two years ago I was thrilled to break 100 and now I have shot in the 70's a dozen times and shoot mid 80's 9 times out of 10. I still don't hit the ball as far as I would like to, especially with the driver, but I have improved and finding the right ball for my game did play a big part! I highly recommend everyone do the same!

My experience is similar to yours. I'm new to golf. I began taking lessons 3 months ago and just started playing on course this month. I started with Kirkland balls because I figured it didn't matter... and collecting some on course when I'm in the hills🤣. Last week I was on a hillside island hole where if you go short, long, or right, your ball is gone forever. I was hitting my fifth ball trying to get on the green and used a Callaway Supersoft I found in the bushes... and it landed on the green. Next two holes, landed on the green. I went to the pro shop after the round and bought two dozen. The next day I shot a 100 with them (15 under my previous best score of 115). These are definitely my ball for now... although I might try the Wilson DuoSoft to compare (Wilson ball reviews brought me to this video).
Excellent and thorough review Jim! Thanks :)
I need to try both of these
Thorough review, will buy the Triad and see.
Thanks Jim. Looks like I'll get a sleeve of both and give them a try..
First time out with this Triad last week I hit 12 fairways! Not bad for this guy. And a few long drives. Very nice feeling off of the White Hot face. Impressive. Was playing TM Tour Response. I’ll stick with Triad for now.
I’m a consistent shooter of low 100. I’m also a golf ball junky (I love golf balls) I like to try different ball. I usually try 2 some 3 brands a year. I started with chrome soft and chrome soft x, then chrome soft and pro v1. Then pro v1 and bridge stone tour b. Now I’m trying maxfli tour. That ball really remains me of a pro v1. I will buy some Wilson staff and triad and play with them and compare. Thank you for all the content you put out for us
I'm still using the last "Orange" Bridgestone e6 that were on the market. At the time it t was the best ball for my game. I ended up buying 36 dozen from a discontinued golf warehouse sale so I will be playing the same ball for several More years to come.
Nice I like Wilson balls especially the tour fox
Totally agree with the “heavy” feel of the triad compared to the staff. Like the triad but the staff does it for me.
Thank you Mr Mcgolf. I think Wilson gets short shrift on golf products. They are releasing D9 forged irons next month they look beautiful. Hope you get a chance to review them. Have a great day.
Playing staff model for last 20 rounds love it! Is sraighter than bridgestone rxs previously my go to high single digit hc
Amen.....Tour play will try new if the $$$ is right. I've played Wilson Duo since it came on the market. take into consideration. If you know your yds, with the ball you are hitting to date. Then you switch to a 'longer' ball...don't be surprised you fly the green or airmail one thru the dawg'leg
Love your appproach to these balls..I think that Wilson has been in the ball business for a very long time and makes balls for a lot of difference sports..That being said...I have been playing the Wilson Staff Duo Soft Spin for some time and love them...Long off the Woods, straight off the irons, great spin off the wedges and very good feel off the putter...BUT Wilson is taking them off the shelf and so I need a replacement beside a Titelist...What Wilson ball would you suggest I try that will give me some of the qualities of the Duo Soft Spin...Thanks...
Good review Jim! I currently play the ZStar. Would be interested in seeing how true the Triad rolls when putting and what it feels like coming off of the putter face.

I also have been playing the Zstar recently. Have you had a chance to play the Triad ? If so, what are your thoughts ? Dispersion, distance, feel etc... Thanks, Chuck
Have any of you heard of the Snell ball? A friend gave me one to try. He likes the the Wilson products and feels the Snell is also good.
Looks a nice ball might try it especially after watching reviews on tour balls that have had 33-40% golf balls out of balance, that’s four to five faulty worrying. Have you checked balls for tolerances? Keep the great reviews coming. Greetings from 🇬🇧.
I usualy play the Srixon Q-Star Tour... but really want to try the Triad. I've heard and read only good things about it.

Same, that QST is great
👍
The funny thing is is that the triad comes in at an ultralight golf ball
Fantastic golf ball, just don't buy the uncoated one, they look like crap quickly.
190 with a 7 iron.....? Ru sure
Hey Jim, wanted to see if you have a review on single length irons. Have had a few injuries over the last 3 years(shoulders, intercostal tear and now some back issues). So, is this something I should consider? If so, what manufacturer? Cobra? Wishon? OneLength? Thank you.
I'm calling BS on Triad. How can you mold a single piece of rubber that is more dense in the center than the edges?

@@seanpeacock5595 Worked for a silicone rubber company for 5 years. Spin casting is new since my days but it appears a quicker way to inject the uncured rubber into molds. I couldn't find anything about how you could change the specific gravity of the rubber on the edges of a ball. Maybe you can but sounds like marketing bs to me.
What clubs are you using? 7 iron 190?! Get this guy a drug test lol.

I'm a STAFF ball player - excellent ball albeit a bit crisp feeling. After 3 rounds with the Triad I'm really noticing tighter patterns, excellent wind performance and a feel that is just about perfect. Soft but not mushy. C.h e.c.k. o.u.t. t h.i s b a.l l. !!!

Actually, the staff ball is the ball the tour pros play if they play a Wilson ball
