Again a superb recording Terry, thank you. I just wish they would pick more familiar music in an ultra high end room like this, as that helps with the comparison process. Obviously it's rather impressive, notwithstanding that.

Aaaah this is my department :-) I've had Transparent cables, they are good, but I found that Purist audio design Dominus speaker cables just had that extra magic. Love Audio research, can highly recommend the ARC pre amp, best pre amp for the money if you don't want to spend big bucks on a pre amp. Fantastic demo. Well done Terry :-)

I noticed you lugging about your recording equipment .Well done. I bet you slept well once your day of filming was over! .I liked the venue,more spacious than the narrow corridors for previous shows in some hotels,which from experience can become rather claustrophobic.I heard that James Blake song played in the Goldmund room.Some deep bass on that track! Make sure the neighbours are out.

Terry, do you know if they changed the Transparent cables when they changed from REF 160 to DAG Relentless as Transparent cables are always optimised for SS or valve amps which makes a noticeable difference?

I did see them changing some cables yes but I wasnt paying total attention as I was filming all the b roll clips of the kit and speakers

Terry thank you for your work and providing us with this beautyfull videos. Im just curios- what do you think that sounded better that day? ARC stereo amp or D'agostino monos? Dont look at the price, if you had that Wilsons what would you pick for your room? This Is wery important, and excuse my bad english! Thank you for your answer in advance!

This is a great question, initially I thought I preferred the Audio Research but as the Dagostinos warmed up then their presence and control shifted things back the other way and then the audio research sounded a little uncontrolled by comparison - but that's only from memory, with different music, from me standing at the back of the make shift room, shooting and recording and I was monitoring the recording so I am not hearing a true reflection of the sound but I put my work before my pleasure because I am dedicated to making my videos to the highest standards I can and there are huge volume swings that I have to monitor the recording levels with. Its much much much more work than anyone realises and gives credit for. That's why I am the only person / idiot who is doing it to this standard :)

Pursuit Perfect System I listened to this clip at least 5 times. AR ref10 has really good tones. But, it’s definitely showing its age. Compare to the newer. highend preamps, it’s just not HD anymore. Sure it has gobs of details but compare to other preamps in the same price range I mean.

hard for me to say as I was monitoring the recording all the time but it's a big scale harmonically very rich sound I wouldnt mind living with for a year or 22 ? :)

I wonder if people who own these Hifi also wear at home their most negative and morose shirts, like the people listening in the showrooms do. Is hifi taste in any relation to fashion & clothing taste? I suppose not.

Watching this system, one may think this is loaned from Gulliver home 😆 One of my biggest amplifiers, two ta-nr1 seem diminutive beside those gigantic krell, ouch, Dan D'Agostino amps. Every one consumes as much power as my two class-A aforementioned Sony monoblocks.

@@bolsesolheim7469 if you say so, it wasn't my intention. If someone can give him/herself whatever it makes happy and can afford without robbing a bank, what's the problem? Audiophiles, me included, are as fascinated by hardware as by music. Some buy yachts, Swiss wristwatch, race cars, these elements must be put at the same level. A car of 25k€ is a end point for me but this doesn't mean some aficionados who expend 10 times that much are crazy. Normal people won't turn their heads if I pass by in my 25K car but in a Ferrari if that were my point, to see people stare at my car at every traffic light. Everything is a lie if we get profound meanings of live.

Ok sounds great would I spend that kind of money to get that sound,no f...kin way

The playlist is just the data You Tube has recognised and made life easy for me. For the rest I would have to Shazam every song which takes ages and is hard to keep up with with everything else I have going on to try and keep all the balls up in the air. I dont think I could even get the info from Wilson because they are running demos every 30 minutes all day across 2 days playing different music in every demo so they would have to note every track in the video, hunt the info down and I cant ask them to do that.

the tube amps don't do these speakers justice. they need much more power

Bear in mind, this is a make shift room, within a HUGE area of the Royal Ascot Stadium, the whole end of one of its floors, that had 2 make shift demo rooms setup and about 4 areas to view lots of the UK Distributor for these brands kit they sell - this is an extremely large area to try and pressurise for one and I am filming at the very back of the created listening area in a bit of a bass hot spot, but there was no where else to do the shooting and recording. Please do bear that in mind

@@elvislad Spotify is my tool but the quality, not being mediocre, is not at the same level that other sources. Nonetheless, I get bored easily. Too many years of this hobby, somehow makes you less impressionable. You need more drug to make the same effect. I'm not the same I was at twenty. I suppose this happens to everyone.

With this level of equipment completely off the scale in quality,why does the music really have to be so dull and boring!🙄

So why do a lot of these hi end play such non complicated music are they scared what may happen

i would never buy a ported speaker, i dont like the sound quality compromises it brings. i am really disappointed that wilson make that call.

excellent reply tom, now you dont have to have quality speakers and enjoy what you buy. but those who are audiophile know what works and dont because we care.

Can't think of worst value for money speakers than Wilson. They don't even measure that well demonstrating serious flaws. The response is far from flat with some stored energy problems unacceptable at their stratospheric prices. In practice Wilsons do have sonic merits such as highly inert / rigid cabinet construction and freedom from dynamic compression but they still sound like cones in a box with all their flaws to my ears. And there are speakers I much prefer for a lot less money.

I think you are being a little disrespectful to the people who visited this show, there was people there of all ages from late teenagers up. Yes a large demographic is probably 45+ but that is far from deaf and dead and also a problem the industry needs to look to fix. I think being negative and divisive and offensive in comments like this doesn't help matters at all for younger people who might see it
