Willys Jeep Restoration Short Time Lapse - [No Music]

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

The short version time lapse of restoring my Willys Jeep CJ3A converted to an MB. I made a version with music, but KZread will not display it so open up another tab and jam to your own tunes. This video shows every part being disassembled, painted, and going back together. The full video shows technical walk through's of major progress as well, while the short video does not.

That was the most memorizing video I've ever watched! Well done as a backyard mechanic who's restored a 1956 series 1 and a 1965 series 2A Land Rover I appreciate the work you've done! I hope to have room again one day to restore an old Willys to The Desert Rats configuration complete with sand ladders and expansion tank bolted to the front grill! Who knows maybe even the machine gun mounted in the back :-) unfortunately war-era Willy's are pretty rare up here in Canada Land Rovers a little bit more common because we use them in the Forestry Department!

Most of the people don`t realise how much work it takes to restore a car. If you a not a professional, it takes 5 to 10 times longer. You`ve tried very hard to do it, so much so, even your little dog wanted to help you. Keep on learning & evolving, kid. Some day you will have your own garage, restoring precious jewels from the past. I don`t want to guess about you, kid, but, your Jeep, will survive WWIII. For sure. Congrats!

I too am going to have to do a full tear down, but your video is quite inspiring. For a young guy, you did an amazing job, seriously. But more to the point; thank you, for still after all that hard work, taking it out, and wheeling it, and HAVING FUN! Too often these rigs are restored, and kept on a plinth. Its great to see someone enjoying the fruits of their labor from the drivers seat, and not a lawn chair staring at it in a car show somewhere. Props.

My cousin was in the motor pool in the Alabama National Guard. He said that in the late 70s, while a new building was being built on a base he was on, the contractor was digging and discovered several long buried and forgotten MB Willys Jeeps in crates. They were fully disassembled and packed in cosmoline. He said they base mechanics spent a year assembling them. I don't know for sure if it's true, but it sounded neat.
