I'm here because my father had a collapse the other day and while we were waiting for the ambulance he told me he wanted us to play this song at his funeral. The reason is simple: Like the very best rock and roll writers and performers in our history, hes one of the very few who got it right; he understood what made a three-minute song great, and why it mattered-because it mattered to him. He lived and died with the audience in his shows, and he gave them something to remember when they left the theater, because he meant every single word of every song as he performed it.

Ich hatte das Glueck, Willy mehrfach live im Konzert zu erleben. Er hatte eine unglaubliche Praesenz auf der Buehne. De Ville ist eine der besten Stimmen, die die Rockwelt je gesehen hat. Seine Songs waren wild, waren gefuehlvoll. Manchmal rockig, sehr melodisch. Allesamt waren sie authentisch. Danke - ruhe in Frieden. Peter

Nennt mir einen Sänger in der heutigen Zeit, der so etwas fertigbringt , in dieser kleinen Besetzung, Klavier und Bass, sein Publikum so in seinen Bann zu ziehen, wie Willy de Vill ? , Keiner konnte das je so wie er, das ist die wahre Größe von Willy de Ville. This is the first song of his I've heard, I was learning about his tribe the Peqouts and came across his name and that he was a musician, I'm really enjoying this song. Dieses Lied mit geschlossenen Augen hören, das bedeutet: Gänsehaut pur. Der Mann ist das Beste was aus den USA an Blues, Soul und Rock-Sängern kommt. Bei seiner Musik nur zuhören, mehr braucht man wirklich nicht zu wissen. Schade, dass er nie die Berühmtheit erlangt hat, die er eigentlich bei seinem Können hätte erreichen müssen.

I saw Mink DeVille live for the first time in a small club in Mt. Vernon NY. the second time was at the Bottom Line in the Village. And the last time was at the BB King's club in times square. All the performances were great! RIP Willy. Very under appreciated.

I had the great pleasure of Willys company a few times when he was in Los Angeles. I saw him play acoustic/solo in the basement of The Coconut Teasers and we hung out and he had told me of his recent experience singing with Ben E King. He was quite ecstatic. I met his wife when I visited him at the hotel. we sat at Jerrys Deli and talked about his new record he was recording Loup Garu I believe. I miss him on this planet and I hope his Gypsy Soul is Free- Bless you Willy- Cisco

Zwei Konzerte in Bremen waren unvergesslich.Selten ,sehr selten. Ich habe den gleichen Bauchschuss wie er. Nach meiner Operation im August 2009 habe ich Tränen vergossen. Ich war versteinert und konnte kaum noch reagieren. Ich lebe und geniesse seine Musik mit meiner Frau.

Wieder etwas sehr Trauriges.Habe es erst heute gelesen und war sehr betroffen.Auch David Keyes lebt nicht mehr.Er ist 2019 verstorben.Zehn Jahre nach Willy.Genaues Datum weiß ich nicht.Nun können sie ihre wunderbare Musik im Himmel weiterspielen. Macht's gut ihr zwei.Wenigstens ist Eure Musik unsterblich.Totzdem wäre es schön,wenn Ihr noch hier wäret.

This is the first song of his I've heard, I was learning about his tribe the Peqouts and came across his name and that he was a musician, I'm really enjoying this song. I told you this, because I hope it helps ease your heart to know he's still being discovered and adored to this day as far away as the UK

Dieses Lied mit geschlossenen Augen hören, das bedeutet: Gänsehaut pur. Der Mann ist das Beste was aus den USA an Blues, Soul und Rock-Sängern kommt. Bei seiner Musik nur zuhören, mehr braucht man wirklich nicht zu wissen. Schade, dass er nie die Berühmtheit erlangt hat, die er eigentlich bei seinem Können hätte erreichen müssen.

I saw Mink DeVille live for the first time in a small club in Mt. Vernon NY. the second time was at the Bottom Line in the Village. And the last time was at the BB King's club in times square. All the performances were great! RIP Willy. Very under appreciated.

I had the great pleasure of Willys company a few times when he was in Los Angeles. I saw him play acoustic/solo in the basement of The Coconut Teasers and we hung out and he had told me of his recent experience singing with Ben E King. He was quite ecstatic. I met his wife when I visited him at the hotel. we sat at Jerrys Deli and talked about his new record he was recording Loup Garu I believe. I miss him on this planet and I hope his Gypsy Soul is Free- Bless you Willy- Cisco

Zwei Konzerte in Bremen waren unvergesslich.Selten ,sehr selten. Ich habe den gleichen Bauchschuss wie er. Nach meiner Operation im August 2009 habe ich Tränen vergossen. Ich war versteinert und konnte kaum noch reagieren. Ich lebe und geniesse seine Musik mit meiner Frau.

Ja, höre ich auch, jedoch mein absoluter Favorit ist und bleibt Willy Deville! Heute kann ich leider gar nichts hören - meine Kopfhörer geben leider keinen Ton von sich, bin ganz traurig, aber nur ganz, ganz wenig

Wieder etwas sehr Trauriges.Habe es erst heute gelesen und war sehr betroffen.Auch David Keyes lebt nicht mehr.Er ist 2019 verstorben.Zehn Jahre nach Willy.Genaues Datum weiß ich nicht.Nun können sie ihre wunderbare Musik im Himmel weiterspielen. Macht's gut ihr zwei.Wenigstens ist Eure Musik unsterblich.Totzdem wäre es schön,wenn Ihr noch hier wäret.
