In 1998 John Grönlund put a band together to do a gig at Kafé 44 in Stockholm. Joel Ekelöf sang and Johns brother Olle played guitar. Their friend Johan Blomberg who erlier rejected the chance to play bass was in the audience and was so impressed that he changed his mind. They tried out a few drummers and became complete when Andreas Hollgren became drummer about six months later.

This version is from Sofia Sofia. The song is ending with the sound of my then girlfriend's dad was turning of the central vacuum engine. I was listening to the song with headphones on and didn't notice the sound - in the same key as the song - until the end of the song. So I recorded the sound with the internal microphone of my computer. I thought of the noise in the end of Beatles' "I want you/She's so heavy" - and when the engine was turned off it was a really good way of ending the song. 😊
Sorry to find that the album "Sofia Sofia" is gone from Spotify etc..😢

DobrieNIN - Try finding ANYTHING on KZread from their first album ‘Sofia Sofia’. It’s nuts! Lol. But I’m not into this band whatsoever. I just went fishing when I heard that Joel had been in this band before Soen. Soen is just absolutely immersive as fuck! Rock on 🤘 my friend
