I completely agree with you. Matthew Brodrick is so funny and the cheesy 80s synth pop/ epic score soundtrack really put it over the top. That attraction between Kilmer and Joanne Walley (Sorsha) was quite real. The actors married shortly after and had two kids but divorced in less than a decade. After watching Kilmer’s “Val”, it was clear that relationship wasn’t going to work out but I always think of their characters having a long and happy life together.

During these two periods, I was able to see your vocal chords open and close all the way, fully visible on camera as you laughed. I am studying anatomy and physiology in college atm, and you have provided the most visible, live example of natural human voice production that I have ever seen on the internet. You may be interested to know that there is an 8-part made-for-TV sequel scheduled for this year, also starring Warwick Davis as Willow. Billy Barty started out at 3 playing babies in silent films and performed until shortly before his death in 2000. My favorite of his is a featured role in “Foul Play”, in which you can actually see his face. You will definitely recognize his voice from “Willow”. He was also an activist for little people.

Magic Acorn Breakdown: The first one was used in a deleted scene against the guardian of Fin Raziel's island, "Fishboy." They had to cut the scene because the fish puppet was janky (a la Jaws). The second was dropped during Willow's fight with the troll, turning a wooden plank to stone (you may have missed that). The third... didn't quite work, but was a decent distraction against Queen Bavmorda. For some reason, I really got into the behind-the-scenes stuff lately, so that came in handy.

So, a little something from the comic adaptation of this film. There were two scenes in the comics that weren't included in the film itself. First, when Willow went across to Raziel's island, a person all in gold swam up and tried to stop him from rowing over. When Willow persisted, the gold person turned into a giant gold fish and tried to eat him (I believe Willow used an acorn here to deal with the fish). There were some still shots from around this point in the movie where Willow's hair is all wet and stringy, so it might've been filmed but cut out. The second took place at the castle with the two-headed dragon (called Eborsisk... referencing film critics Siskel and Ebert). One of the crystalized figures talked to Sorsha, and it turned out to be her father, who implored her to help fight her mother who had cast the spell over the castle. So in that situation, her turned against her mother's army wasn't quite as spontaneous as it seemed in the film. After this movie, Val Kilmer and Joanne Whalley (Sorsha) actually did get married, but it didn't last

The majority of filming took place in Dinorwic quarry in Wales with some at Elstree Studios in Hertfordshire, as well as a small section in New Zealand. "Exterior scenes set in Willow Ufgood’s village were filmed at Brocket Hall in Hertfordshire, although George Lucas and Ron Howard used footage of a region in southern China as a background plate in a shot of the Nelwyn Valley. Similarly, footage of Tongariro National Park on New Zealand’s North Island was used as a backdrop for Queen Bavmorda’s castle in Nockmaar, although the castle itself was a purpose-built façade located at Dinorwic Slate Quarry in Snowdonia National Park, Wales. Other exterior scenes in Willow were filmed in and around Queenstown on New Zealand’s South Island, while the cart chase scene in which Willow and Madmartigan are pursued by the Queen’s soldiers was filmed in Epping Forest in Greater London. Two waterfalls appear in the movie - Burney Falls in California and Powerscourt Waterfall in County Wicklow, Ireland - while additional scenes were filmed in the woodland surrounding Skywalker Ranch in northern California." -Screen Rant

There were surely "your mama" jokes in some 1970s movies, but even in Labyrinth before this there was one. After Sarah drew an arrow with lipstick on a stone tile to try and keep from getting lost, a little goblin popped up, flipped it over, shook an angry fist, and said, "Your mother is a fraggin' aardvark" lol.

For more fantasy and medieval films of the 80’s I highly recommend: Clash of the Titans, Excalibur, The Last Unicorn, Legend (director’s cut), Time Bandits, Brazil, The Adventures of Baron Munchausen, The Dark Crystal, Conan The Barbarian, Krull, Fire and Ice, Wizards, Return to Oz, Something Wicked This Way Comes, The Black Cauldron, Highlander, Red Sonja (so bad it’s hilarious), Also since Disney owns Lucasfilm which made Willow there is going to be a sequel series to the film with Warwick Davis returning for it,
