Such an underrated score. Spielberg himself has said he actually prefers the 1941 march over the one for Raiders.

So cool to see John Williams enjoy his own work. The smile on his face says it all. :). Great job to the Presidents Own Band playing this tune. :)

Indeed, it was a pleasure watching him direct at La Scala in Milano, last year. Best 141 Euros I have ever spent!
Underrated score from an underrated movie.
One young lady in the flute section, with some measures rest was completely mesmerized, with a look on her face and eyes, like "I can't believe I'm being conducted by the real John Williams, OMG."
I have seen hundreds of concerts in my life, ranging from the Stones, McCartney, RUSH, Nugent ,AC/DC, Foo Fighters, Stevie Wonder, Petty, to Anita Baker The Tubes ,Gino Vannelli and even the Monkees just to name a few. I have NEVER EVER been so moved at a concert as I was with THEE Mr. John Williams. Hands down , without a doubt the single greatest live performance I ever experienced
I play trumpet and I'm in high school in a small town in Idaho and I think this is one of the coolest pieces ever!! I want to play this some day really bad!🎺

I hope you get the chance. The conteapuntal run with woodwinds vs brass leading into final statement of them is awesome and a wonder to play.
I love seeing at the end how pleased John Williams is to have conducted the band, and how pleased they are to have had him as conductor.
Count how many times these normally poker--faced musicians are seen smiling up at JW. They can't help but love this national treasure any more than we can.
One of my all-time favorite pieces. Had to put on my headphones so I didn't wake up everyone in the house.

Mr. John Williams always makes me cry, EVEN with his marches. My god, WHY ARE THESE SCORES SO GOOD?!?!? There are no "lesser" scores, even the ones that are not so well known ARE masterpieces. God bless this genius human being. Nothing else to say, just THANK YOU!!!!
Watch the bandmembers as they play this under his baton. Every chance they get their eyes are on the conductor for this probably once in a lifetime experience. So awesome.
This is quite awesome!! John Williams is a legend and national treasure❤️🇺🇸
My middle school band played this. BEST CONCERT OF MY LIFE! Thanks John Williams.
Truly an American treasure.
Wow! It’s hard to conceive that as a young man, all of that was in his head, ready for implementation for anyone lucky enough to get him to score their movie.
This march by the master John Williams rocks, big time!
Such admiration by the players towards him. You can just feel it in the music.
This March is just hilarious and full of joy and humour. It’s just so exciting. You can’t not stop your feet to it….

And you can just SEE them, marching by, can't you? With their flat, dishpan helmets, their khaki canvas leggings and webgear, 1903 Springfield rifles on their shoulders; long bayonets glinting. The 48 Star flags..
This score is the best thing about the movie and this was a great performance of it.
I remember playing this in the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band. It's always been one of my favorites. The piece gives you a little spark of joy like few others can.

John williams the second john Phillip Souza with the best marches ever
The smile on every member’s face says it all.
Magnificent. One of the best marches ever composed, and there have been some truly great ones.
This piece is so Awesome and to watch John Williams and the Presidents own makes me smile!! Bravo 👏 👏 👏
This is one the best movie themes and of course it's John Williams at the helm.
This brings a smile to my lips and a tear to my eye! Wonderful!
Absolutely brilliant composition and brilliantly played by the superb President’s Own …. a joy to hear!
Even though this is an overblown movie, I always liked it. And the score is great. Spielberg's "Mad Mad World"!
It's almost impossible to not smile while hearing this!
The Maestro does it again another good score by The Great John Williams.

What a cracking march superbly performed; I loved the syncopation, quite surprising in a march!!!
They all look so serious and professional but inside they must've been going a mile a minute and having the best day of their music careers
i finally see a video where John Williams Conducts this 1941 Theme again.... the movie and theme were made i think 1980 it RARELY Gets played along with the Superman theme which he also wrote 2 very good themes that are under performed even though i love a lot of his other stuff
Absolutely magnificent!
I am Born on November 10th!!!! My father was born in 1941!!! Marines all the way!!

Quite infectious. Memorable, too.
In my minds eye I can see Wild Bill Kelso landing at that gas station.

Dang, Mr Williams is GOOD -- and he's a decent conductor, as well. Not all composers are.

何度聴いても良い曲です。ジョンウイリアムズ氏の曲は素晴らしいものばかりですがわたしはこの曲が一番好きかもしれません。映画じたいは見たことないんですが😅
No one could write Hero music like John Williams. Period. I am of the belief that God has him very busy writing the soundtrack and scoring for the 2nd coming of Christ.
Excellent! 👏👏
Absolutely love this ensemble. There is no better. Will someone please steal and hide those toy crash cymbals!!
Two national treasures.
If this movie wasn’t the box office joke that it was, I believe that this march would have been one of the most well known and most performed works by John Williams, as opposed to somewhat of an afterthought. Like Bernstein’s Candide Overture (which also was the music to a flop), it practically saves the movie from complete oblivion. I can’t think of a better concert opener. One tempo from start to finish (as opposed to Raiders March or Star Wars Main Theme) and light, fresh and fun. Reminds me of Morton Gould’s American Salute. I wish this were performed more.
John Williams's score was the only redeeming factor for that movie. It sent chills through my body. AWESOME!!
È splendida!!🎵🙏🎼🎶

Wild Bill Kelso is proud of youq
To me, it invokes images from the novel 'Team Yankee', a platoon of Abrams casually traversing the German country side.

Watch him conducting the Star Wars theme live with the Vienna Philharmonic. The orchestra was trying to go faster than he was conducting, so "if looks could kill", the orchestra would be dead! A few measures in, the orchestra slowed to where he wanted it to be.
John Philip Sousa would have loved this if he was still with us today 🇺🇸
Лёгкий,радостный,очаровательный марш
Every time I hear the opening bars of this I hear the engines of 9th Bomber Command's B24s warming up for Operation TIDAL WAVE on August 1st, 1943.
If you haven't seen it, the introduction to this song shows the absolute surprise of the band members when John walks on stage. kzread.info/dash/bejne/pH2bqtWAdtebeqw.html
Would be perfect for military ceremonies 🇺🇸

RobertSaxy actually, that’s what I meant! The best WIND recording! There area lot of differences between wind and orchestral performances. I prefer wind music so I will always say the wind performance is better than any orchestral performance. It’s just my preference.

Roheryn 37 cant go wrong either way, it Williams and a brilliant performance. I know the feeling, I’m a orchestra person (even though I’m a brass player) and prefer the orchestra stuff. This is however is the best wind version hands down any else is taste and preference. How lucky are we to have so much John Williams music available, enjoy
Just wondering WHO is stuffing the vote for this piece ... there just cannot be any other explanation for this piece beating out Holst's Moorside March, and Fucik's Entry of the Gladiators (aka "Thunder & Blazes"), at least not based upon the instances in this playlist ... could it be the SAME person(s) stuffing the vote for Hands Across the Sea, which beat out Williams' Raiders March and Sousa's Washington Post March ... if this piece gets to the final, someone has been playing a numbers game, because of the four Williams' marches in the 2021 March Mania, I find it difficult to believe that this piece doesn't bring up the rear behind Raiders, Imperial March and Superman ...
Who else got send here for school
