Scotland History Tours is here for people who want to learn about Scottish history and get ideas for Scottish history tours. I try to make videos which tell you tales from Scotland's past and give you information about key dates in Scottish history and historical places to visit in Scotland. Not all videos are tales from Scotland's history, some of them are about men from Scotland's past or women from Scotland's past. Basically the people who made Scotland. From April 2020 onward I've tried to give ideas for historic days out in Scotland. Essentially these are days out in Scotland for adults who are interested in historical places to visit in Scotland.
As a Scottish history tour guide people ask: Help me plan a Scottish holiday, or help me plan a Scottish vacation if your from the US. So I've tried to give a bit of history, but some places of interest in Scotland as well.

I actually watched the Andrew de Moray video yesterday as I'm still playing 'catch up' with these wonderful, informative videos that you embellish with a definite Scottish sense of humor (like this one) or a somber reality check when needed (like the Highland Clearances). Very cool!

Andrew de Moray Don't we have another hero of the same name?.... Hahaha just a wee joke... I'm an English born son of Scottish parents , grandma from Wick and a nan from Dundee. My holidays in Scotland as a kid was less than easy with an English accent...my cousin's would rag me all the time but no one outside the family could have a go at me without feeling the pointed end of my cousin's boots. They enjoyed taking the pee out of an Englishman/ boy but I was family and no one touched family... It's a passion I see in all my family and friends ( I served in the royal navy and my best mates were always Kelts) it's kinda like the relationship between England and Scotland .... always taking a pop at each other yet would defend each other when the stuff hits the fan...I know it's not like that everywhere but it is my experience that blood is thicker than water. The passion for history and the way he tells the story is brilliant I wish I had found this long ago... well done ,( even though your passion for Scotland is very strong you don't let it spoil the way the story is told) Thanks for the entertainment and lesson all wrapped up in humour.

Spare a thought for the love forged by these warriors, who lived and died together, often for really worthy causes, laying down their lives for their kinsmen. Not many are capable of such genuinely heroic deeds, so both Wallace and his friend are worthy of our respect and honour, especially since they laid the foundations for the freedom from tyranny of the Sassenachs. AMEN!!!

Good to see you in Falkirk again! My gran was born in Grahamston and that's what's written on her birth certificate. I grew up drinking water from the old Graeme memorial fountain (unitl we were all warned to stop drinking from it!) and believing that the battle of Falkirk had taken place at Victoria Park. Historians keep changing their minds on the exact place, though. Well done the John de Graeme Society for preserving the fountain.

I merely had interest in the history of the McGregor family and your video was so good it led me down the Scottish path and I discovered so many things about Scotland, it's give me a different appreciation for your history. Considering that we are related in many ways, Scot gets it's name from Roman writers who called us Celts Scotti. The Scot Irish are a crucial part of our own history here in Ireland and history tells me, not that there's differences between us but that we're so a like. Gia leat agus adh mor. One of the biggest bummers I've read is in Fiona Watsons' Under the Hammer. Where, by looking at supplies, the English were days from retreating. Days!! How history could have been changed by waiting a few days.

@@ScotlandHistoryTours Out of curiosity and my apologies if this is too personal to ask but do you purely do this as a passion and keen interest in Scottish history or do you specialise in that subject through a degree or anything similar? Again, I'd that's too personal to ask then I completely understand. Either way you're doing an incredible job and it's also funny at times which I'm loving!

@@ScotlandHistoryTours well I look forward to the day that you do. I’ll be there with bells on. If you ever find yourself in Central New York I’d be happy to take you on a tour of all our local British, French and colonial forts and battle sites. Fort Oswego is still in particularly good condition and a fort on Onondaga Lake, not 10 minutes from me has been restored to it’s French and Indian War period looks. You can make appointments to view it and movies have recently been filmed there. Including the 2018 thriller “Mohawk.” Not a bad movie for being filmed on a shoestring budget.
