I've driven a roadster pony and that was fun. Would love to drive a roadster horse, and I do know Mr. Raymond Shively. I pitched in and helped his grooms when one called in sick, and got to groom and harness one of the greatest roadster to wagon horses ever out of Mr. Shively's barn. Mrs. Shively trained enough top Saddle Seat equitation riders to rival Helen Crabtree.

Well Done, Bill. Still, and at 82; your running circles around me & I'm only in my mid 50s. I think you're the real thunderbolt; is there anything you can't do... I think not!

I remember the WCHS in Lville. Marty Mueller was our trainer for 3 of the horses my family showed. The roadster class was always fun to watch more so in person. The webcam perspective is pretty cool. Freedom Hall looks the same as I remember it as a young girl going there every year with our horses.

@Dave Zafris AHH, you need glasses? He was not riding but driving. A tad eaiser way to travel with a horse with the least amount of muscle power required from the human. Plenty of old men in harness racing to prove this point that win races without acting more tired than their horse.

@@douglasahart1874 that’s what I thought when I first drove, that it would be easier on my body than riding. Now I’ve never driven a road horse but I’d say driving a saddlebred the first few times (at 22) was more nerve racking than riding the same horse! He’s also in just a jog cart pretty much so he has nothing really holding him in it. Takes a significant amount of upper body strength to stick in the seat especially when these road horses reach more than 30mph in that arena. Pretty awesome classes to watch!!
