I would love to see a high budget film on the Dunlop family. It could potentially be the best motorsport film of all time.

God rest your gentle soul, William. He was such a quiet man, softly spoken and gentle natured, it was often quite a contrast to see him racing so competitively. I always enjoyed listening to him speak, as he always had a more introspective opinion about his racing, which made him an intensely likeable fellow. His presence is missed greatly. Every April, as i grow older than my childhood icons were when they passed away at the races, the depth of the losses affect me more and more. These are young men in the prime of their lives, and after decades of our brethren grieving in silence, there has been a marked shift in the collective grieving process in the aftermath of Wiliams' death which has brought out much more open discussion about bereavements and the grief from them in racing and its truly wonderful to see. Healing is aided by conversations, and helping each other unpack and process the heartaches. Like the old BT advert used to say, " it's good to talk."

I have no idea why I didn't know William had died. Just the other day I was watching ROAD and was saying to my husband that William always seemed such a lovely natured chap with no arrogance or aggression. After saying that, and a bit later in the film, I wanted to look something up so I paused the film & went over to google and noticed that William was spoken about in past tense and then when I read Wikipedia, I was made fully aware of William's passing.,I'm gutted.
