I always tear up when listening to this, or reading this poem...so indicative of the tone right now in which I live...
I believe it is Marianne Moore, not WCW, who is reading in this recording.
That would be false. Listen to other recordings of his voice. This is definitely Williams.

Perhaps after his strokes. He suffered a series of strokes in the late Forties I've been told.
No, but he was a stroke victim. That is probably what you are hearing.
Adore the poem but can’t stand the reading. It seems Ezra Pound was the only modernist capable of reading his own poems and doing them justice.
