William Barton and Sydney Symphony Orchestra | Birdsong at Dusk and Petrichor

Музыка

For the latest recording in Sydney Symphony Orchestra's Chamber Sounds series, they were joined on stage by the peerless composer and performer William Barton to play "Petrichor" and "Birdsong at Dusk" for string quartet and didgeridoo.
“I feel honoured to perform with members of the Sydney Symphony, my extended music family, bringing my music to life as an expression of the times we live in.
Each player contributes to creating this musical journey on stage. We all look forward to sharing music with you in person one day soon enough.”
Featuring Sydney Symphony musicians: Anna Skálová (violin), Emma Jezek (violin), Tobias Breider (viola), Elizabeth Neville (cello).

Just heard William performing with Richard Tognetti on the BBC. Listening from Holland but Ossie by birth I felt so proud and a litte homesick hearing William's wonderful music.

I thought this too. Never Easy, I certainly struggle with it, and he, as always is a real inspiration, in so many ways.

This is how we Australian should be celebrating NADOC week or whenever. The combination of two cultures presented as our Australian heritage! Australia has the longest (100,000+ yrs) living heritage in the world thanks to our Indigenous brothers and sisters; yet the organisors of Nadoc week played the discriminatory card by the motto "always was always will be". In my mind, this sidelines all people of non-indigenous heritage who also have contributed to this country over the past few hundred years? 14/11/2020
