​@SASGolf Great run down on those clubs Simon, I have ever played Wilson clubs before but I know the dynapwr driver has surprised a lot of people with it's performance at that price level. Kudos to Wilson to want you to give your honest opinion on them. That means something to me and I am sure your other subscribers.

Kudos to Wilson for sending their stuff to someone who’s made a name from honesty. I too have played D7 forged the past two years. Would love to try the newer iterations but don’t expect game changing differences yet.

I have a weird affinity to Wilson Staff. I like how they go under the radar and don’t spend millions of dollars to convince us that this year’s model is 1278% more forgiving than last years, and 10% further. I’ve had two sets of Wilson Staff irons and I’m seriously considering picking up the Dynapower driver. I currently play FG Tour V5 irons, lovely irons.

I still play my fg tours going to get fitted this season and I'm going to go with Wilson again never ever had an issue with Wilson staff irons

@@eoinm5758 a lot can be said for a so called ‘less forgiving’ club. I’m an 11 hcp and have dropped 6 shots since sporting those irons that I picked up second hand. It isn’t all to do with the club head but Wilsons are just lovely and great value for money, new or second hand. Good luck with your new set. I’m toying with the idea of gettinf fitted for my next set. I like the shape of the likes of the P790s. Something slimmer but not a butter knife blade.

Great video. I replaced every club in my bag over winter with the exception of my 3 wood (which was new to me last summer). Every club is used and I got for a great price. I don’t see how purchasing new is beneficial when you have clubs within the last few years at a fraction of the cost. I have an entirely new (to me) bag for about $1300 CAD. New I would have paid more than that just for my irons! 😂 the entire bag is as follows D - 2021 M4 10.5 Ventus red stiff shaft 3 - m6 5 - m6 4 hybrid - PXG 0211 hzrds smoke shaft 5-PW - PXG 0211 xcor2 xtreme black 52, 56, 60 - Titleist Vokeys P - odyssey stroke lab exo 2 ball

I'm a huge Wilson fan. Irons are easily up there with the best and their putters are vastly underrated. I'm playing a Honma TW747 driver and waiting for the Dynapwr to come down in price to replace it.

I got the infinite windy city last Dec. And I'm also waiting for a price drop on the dynapower Ti I have seen them for 220 - 240 on eBay tho already

I've literally just picked up my Wilson Dynapower 5-SW and hybrid in my spec. I'm VERY happy.

I think that it’s really awesome of Wilson to still want you to review the clubs knowing you will most likely tell people to go second hand. I went second hand with the Wilson D9 Forged after your mid handicap iron video talking about the D7 Forged. I was looking for the D7’s and found a used but in mint condition set of the D9’s for same price as the used D7’s. They are some pretty awesome clubs.

Swapped my secondhand TM for a new set of D9 irons. Very happy

My whole bag is second hand, except for my Wilson wedges. I was having a bit of trouble finding a decent set second hand and got sick of having nothing between my PW and 60. Don’t regret picking them up

I totally agree. Now a days no one is head and shoulders above anyone else. I exchanged my Titleist AP2 718 irons for Maltby TS1 IM’s my Ping G440 hybrids for Wilson kept my Titleist 3 metal and I have 4 different manufacturers drivers and Volkey Wedges. The happiest I’ve ever been with my current set of clubs. Over 50 years.

I have wilso D9 forged irons and have played my best golf since owning them.

I was fitted for a driver. Ended up being fitted into a TSr1. Really liked the feel and sound. Performance was great, for me. The second place driver was the Wilson. Only a little shorter and a little more dispersion. I hear what you're saying about used clubs. There are some clubs that are easy to find used and there are some which aren't. I'm guessing it's because people like those.

I think wilson is massively under rated brand I've got d7 irons (£185) in my bag and recently brought a launchpad draw bias driver (£140) to help my wide slice and now I confidence when I tee up can't highly enough of them such good value for money 😁

End of last august I changed my whole bag from all cobra to all Wilson besides fairway woods I currently have the Wilson staff model cb irons staff model wedges best looking in my opinion with the satin finish had the Dynapwr carbon driver but didn’t work for me so I went to cobra driver getting the dark speed ls but Wilson make unreal irons and wedges

Wilson irons have been on the short list of irons I want to try for my next set. My first and only set I play Ping Eye 2 irons now and love them, however a little more distance would be nice. I’m a new golfer so still learning

i got the d9 forged irons and dynapower woods and they are soo good.

Got mine 5-GW, Tensei Silver 1-2 clubs longer than my old set. Accurate too! Highly underrated ❤

I use wilson hybrid irons and I love them, literally a game changer.

Have the Dynapower Titanium version driver. Suits my game and very happy with it.

I have full wilson bag, Dynapower carbon driver, 3 wood, 7 wood, Dynapower irons 5-G, and Wedges 52, 56 and 60 and BL22 putter and I love them all.

Great review, love wilson staff irons. Use to play their blades back in the day. Love them. Looking to get a set of cb's soon. They look sooo nice

D9 Forged irons... really good value from them too... and I got my first hole_in_one last season with i7 (and that was my second season playing)...

Struggled to find a decent replacement for my old calloway X hot 4 wood and had ping G425.. taylormade Sim 2 Hl 3 wood... Recently purchased a Wilson Launchpad 3 wood with a regular evenflow shaft.. WHAT A Golf club...ditched my driver.. dont need it.. FLYS off the face like a rocket

I've just picked up a set of FG Tour F5's after watching one of your previous posts. I really wanted a relatively forgiving iron with more traditional lofts and they certainly fall into that category. The trouble is I'm somewhat confused why better player irons are weaker lofted and GI irons are jacked up just to be able to keep up on distance. Why not just take more club if you need more distance? Or is it not as straightforward as that? I had been using a hollow body distance iron but struggled to generate enough spin on approaches! Great content, always interesting and informative 👍

I bought the Wilson D9 forged irons a few months ago and think they are a good set of irons.

Just got the Wilson Utility iron stiff shaft 18 degrees, changed my game, 200-220 yards, feels and sounds great, does exactly what it says on the tin.

I bought a set of the D7 forged last year, very easy to hit but didn't like getting the odd flyer. So I have just recently bought the previous Staff Model CB 4-pw, brand new £404. I really should have bought these from the beginning, they are great. I already had the wedges which are superb.

Love Wilson since the 60's. I game FG Tour V2's and FG Tour V4 Utilities.

I have been playing my Di7s for at least a decade or more. I had to take some time off for cancer and thought I'd be better off with something for old people with whippy shafts seeing I couldn't swing hard anymore. I was wrong, 3 sets later and I'm back to my 7s. Best clubs I've ever owned and I've played and owned most every brand.

Wilson D7 forged……thought I wanted a better “players distance” iron Looked at the market here in Canada and the prices are 🥜 So with Si’s personal advice (yes, he actually DOES answer emails like he says)……. Was… 7 iron, 30-1/2° loft, 145 yards, 42° land angle, 5,200 spin 👎 Now Ball change + 7 iron, 32° loft, 1/2” longer, 148 yards, 44° land angle, 6,100 backspin Did lengthening and grip change myself Total cost $50.🎉🎉🎉

What driver?

I cant speak for the woods, but wilson irons are hard to beat. I still play the v6 irons & love them.

Gutted about the aerojet resale value, I wanted to upgrade for the main reason I wasn't fitted into it. It's a great driver but literally can't sell it, or won't for the price people want to pay. It's nearly on par with 4/5 year old drivers 😂 Bugger Love ya vids mate

Bought the d7 irons for £150 last year they are great value

There’s an argument that Wilson is the best value in new clubs. Their Dynapower Forged irons are 25% less than most premium clubs in category and perform just as good and have premium shaft and grip options.

I've used the dyno power, and for the price, it's a bit too much. I got the m4 Taylor made, and it eats it alive for a fraction of the price

27 degrees in a 7-iron?! I’ll stick with my 34 degree thank you. I would have a lot of trouble properly gapping around that stronger club.

Always been a Wilson fan--had many of their clubs--and they play like any of the best out there. Wilson are very poor at marketing and catering to their fans though. Happy that they sent you some clubs to try out. As a regular player, try writing them a thank you note; they have no personal skills--whoever is dealing their customer contact haven't a clue. Sad, for such an historic golfing brand not to really get it in this age of so many direct marketers. That said, I'll most likely try out the new, and then find an older Wilson set somewhere in the future for less. The clubs have longevity and just plain work. Are you listening Wilson? Cheers!
