In 2000 I think, I bought the collective soul greatest hits CD and I was shocked at just how good of a band they were. The album opened with Heavy and i said “this is sonically amazing”. I was familiar with Shine which I liked, and I was familiar with December and the World I Know because they were big radio hits on 107.9 here in North Carolina. But man that greatest hits album and even some of their newer stuff has me say they are such an underrated group and they did stuff that was different from every one else. Some of it even boarded on industrial, but a different kind. Everyone needs to give Collective Soul a look

Absolutely awesome band!!
Awesome interview, gentlemen. I saw Collective Soul open for VH on the Balance tour in Albuquerque, NM. Great memories.
Great interview! Always nice to hear Will talk about stuff. Love Collective Soul, and I'm right there with Will, lovin' the 70s music.
Yep, I seen them open for Van Halen in 95. Great show
Gents!!!! 10⭐️from me. Collective Soul is my #2 Band and Will Turpin is my favorite member 🤟🏼 loved this interview!! Certainly over due
I remember CS opening the Balance tour. They were outstanding. Saw them a few years ago opening for Sammy and they were great as well.
Hints and Allegations was the soundtrack of 1995 summer for me. That and Sabbath Volume 4 ( Yes I know that album was 20 yrs old by then ) Great time in my life.
Great interview boys !!! Lifelong VH and CS fan!! Got to meet them in Columbus a few months ago. Love these guys and can't wait for them to come back to town. Music, energy, smiles and love...doesn't get any better than that!! Will is great and an awesome 'director' as the band exits the stage to "Run"... 🥰

Thanks for watching Tim!!
If my thinking is correct, I believe you were actually at Granny's House in Reno, Nevada when Sammy called. Too Tall Tom was in the control both and he took Sammy's call. Then Ed wrote and recorded " Where The River Flows" about firing the agent for blowing off Van Halen. Van Halen after all were the 'Gods of the Season ' that led Collective Soul to their next incident. Can't wait to work with you guy's. Blessed Be to Thee.
Great interview Will!
I saw that tour. Collective Soul did a very good job opening. Collective Soul was considered more alternative-grunge, which surprised me to have them as an opener (the antithesis of classic rock), but it worked out well. VH was tight and good, a fun show (typical party VH show). The next tour I saw in what...early to mid 2000s? The tension on stage was palpable between EVH and Sammy. And they broke up shortly thereafter.

Thanks for watching man!
I wish I would have been there
We saw this tour 2 nights in a row in MA Gary Cherone blew out voice 2 songs in. Van Halen said come back tomorrow night and we'll do it again. Collective Soul rocked opening both nights!

You're thinking of the VH III album & tour from 1998... Sammy Hagar was with VH in 1995-96 for the Balance album & tour. Cherone was on that one album only. Best wishes! 👨🏻🎤👍🏻✌🏻 - Max Giganteum

Good Stories
I had never been a fan of Grudge or any rock type without guitar 🎸 solos but, I had to put that aside only for collective souls and not even for Nirvana, Bush.., just CS. Respect
