Mix equal parts of liquid rubbing compound and Fast Orange hand cleaner.Make sure the hand cleaner has pumice in it.This will remove light scratches and heavy water marks.Use a da polisher.

I tried using the compound on my side windows cause they both had scratches in them. It did not seem to work however I cannot seem to get the compound off. I did not have any polish when I did it and I’ve washed the windows many times. Now when it rains it acts almost waterproof but is very blurry and hard to see out of when wet. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I would find some glass polish. Or talk with an auto glass installer they may sell a polish to fix it.

So the Meguiars Ultimate Compound does glass and body work? I am trying to remove light wiper scratches, should I go for this or is there a better product for a windscreen? Thanks

If you already have the meguiars, I would try it. Otherwise, I would look for a glass polish.

It should work you would think, glass is a harder substance then what headlights are made out of, but then you're going to have to clean the whole thing after and get all the stuff off obviously. There is kits you can buy, they're supposed to work really well but usually you need a electric or air powered spinning buffer. However they're not recommended especially not by me anyways because you can get a pair of headlights for most cars on eBay for like less than $100. They have everything you need to install them and it's usually not more than 100 bucks to have them installed at a repair shop, and if you have a good friend who works on cars that's the better route to go it's very easy to put them in in 75% of cars. I wish I could show you my before and after pictures of my 2006 Accord. It's gorgeous now Plus those kits to buff the headlights don't last very long and they're like anywhere from $20 to $50 anyways, you have to keep using them over and over. So if you want to try the buffer stuff that he used go ahead and try but I would just replace the headlight housings if I was you

Rubbing compound then polish and finally wax works good for me. Have to do it about every 6 months though.

Try Cerium oxide with a felt pad. It actually interacts with the makeup of the glass. Rebounding the glass molecules to each other at a certain temp. Just keep temps bellow 150. If it does not come out after a few passes to dry with cerium oxide, reach out to a glass scratch repair company.

Well its been 5 months, havent had the time before this... My apoligies.. And as a side note, while I was doing this and my brother reminded me of when we were kids we would put baking soda in toothpaste to get scratches out of video game discs.. I tried the baking soda on one part and it worked the same but it did make the glass shinier with the baking soda mix my measurements was about a pinch of baking soda to a glob of toothpaste about the size you put on your toothbrush... but yes the toothpaste did work but mind you these were shallow scratches and it was only noticeable if my windshield was really dirty and it was sunny out.. but thank you again for this video and the ide in the first place hopefully this can help out someone else that is in our situation. Cheers guys hope you all who commented before get a chance to see this.

That makes sense. It was likely more of something on the glass instead of a mar IN the glass. Cerium oxide will work. Just be careful not to over heat.
