Best thing fishing wise I've ever bought fishing wise, opened up so much more fishing here on the broads, and plus just putting it on the roof rack, less faff than a boat and you can launch most anywhere. Tight lines.

Great video as always Nick - a kayak is brilliant to fish from because it is very mobil, and dont need a lot of place to get into the water. Have been using one for the last 6 yeas, but only to sea fish from.

Nick - that's a SERIOUS piece of kit! As you say. it'll take you were you have never been before. Unfortunately for me, I like like my feet on Terra Firma - envious of those who take the plunge and go kayaking as it opens up a whole new world of possibilities- but it's not for me, despite me having a 'Gold' in Lifesaving. I saved my brother from drowning in the 80's after his boat tipped over (he couldn't swim but was never fearful of being in a boat) - and that episode made me mindful and wary of the dangers - and with a wife and 5 children, I don't take that risk. I know you will take all the necessary precautions - but be careful (as I know you will).

it is the best thing you purchase, buy a Power Pole for the shallow water, + a battery Li-Ion Rebelcell AV 12V/50A , I have a Prow Angle 14 360, with Power Pole + Minn-Kota Terrova with 55 LBS with Spot Lock

My biggest tip for a beginner on a river is....forget a anchor, you only need a Bush gripper. The rivers you fish are not that big so if you did want to anchor up then a gripper on the edge is fine. When you move to bigger rivers then invest in an anchor, practice and get comfortable before ever trying it in the ocean. Its the most dangerous part of yak fishing.

Really appreciate you taking time to provide me some guidance! Thanks! It’s all very new and exciting! Tbh I will probably not use it on my small local rivers. This is really for the Thames, Broads, reservoirs and estuaries.

Been kayak fishing for about two and a half years both fresh and salt water. Best advice........don't go crazy and buy every fishing attachment out there. Have a couple of simple easily manageable trips fist with minimum gear to figure out what what you want. Oh and do NOT forget a good PFD

Thanks for the tips! Yes, I certainly don’t want to waste money on unnecessary stuff! As you’ve suggested, I’ll go out a few times and then decide what I need.

ive had one for a year now and i hope more uk lads get them. it will force the clubs to let us on their waters and stop being a pain in the arse. one thing i would say to anyone getting one, is dont expect to get on it and be nailing loads of fish. youre constantly battling wind and current. you will drift past a swim and you have a window of opportunity to cast accurately and work the lure before you go past. Also, the uk isnt really ready for this kind of thing like it is in the usa. there are hardly and boat ramps onto rivers so youll have to do some dodgy launches, and with all the privately owned stretches of canal/river, finding somewhere to fish without an 8 rod barbel bivvy noddy whos been there for 54 days screaming at you from the other side of the river proves difficult. some lads will tell you clubs only own the bank rights and some clubs think they can do whatever they want and kick you off. its all good fun. PS all those snags you dream of fishing from the other side of the bank dont always have fish on them lol.

Mainly got it for adventures and exploring new water. I’ll almost certainly catch less than I would on the rivers I’m familiar with, but that’s fine. I also like the idea of fishing around the coast and in estuaries … so lots to look forward to I reckon👍

For saltwater it’s unbeatable! I love mine I get out on it as much as possible. I’ve been doing a fair amount of Bass fishing in the UK and I’m certainly planning on taking this kayak out to target bass and mullet over here! 👍

does anyone know any lakes in the south yorkshire area that actually allow kayak fishing? going on google maps, every single lake I look into does not allow it. eg rother valley, ulley reservoir, thrybergh, southfield etc the list goes on. every one either has a fly fishing club that doesnt allow lures, a sailing club that doesnt allow kayakers or is a carp/pike syndicate. 🤣🤣🤣

Like with most things, you generally get what you pay for, and the sky is the limit! Many might disagree with me, but I think you’re probably looking at a minimum of £800ish. 🤷‍♂️
