I'm not a fan of kids pageants, but I can certainly appreciate this woman's attitude. She reminds me of a "dance mom"(an actual dance mom and not that crap on tv) or "Soccer mom" . Her kid likes to do something so she supports her but doesn't go nuts or overbearing with that support.

I did pagents for years and the one thing I can say is that is that this girl has natural talent. Her mother choosing natural, no tanner, and telling her not to be robotic is going to make her stand out every time. I’m glad she doesn’t want to compromise her child and her budget for a hobby.

I thought it was a beautiful dress. Much more suitable for a child than the short ones they usually wear. The fact that her mother refurbished her own wedding dress for the hoop had me amazed, but when she said that they got her gown for only 9 dollars…. @@mojoyogi5414 Yeah, I know, I'm not really for child pageants with how they are, like I think if they didn't have most of the kids fake tanning & wearing pounds of makeup & instead just had them just wearing nice, cute clothes n doing their hair n stuff it would be a lot better, & if there was an age limit like you had to be like 9 or older to compete, but yeah some little girls really love the pageants like this girl in this video, she loves it and I'm really happy that her mom doesn't make her fake tan and put on all that damn makeup & doesn't force her to do the pageants, how they do it is really wholesome and you can tell they really have a lot of fun and its a great way for them to spend time together. & I don't see why its a problem that they're judging kids, like there's other activities where kids get judged on things lol. It's like a competition, & there's tons of different types of competitions for kids, & this one is a beauty & talent competition lol. & one thing I do love about these pageants is it doesn't just give all the kids those dumb participation trophies n crap, it gives the kids an opportunity to actually try to win something instead of just being like, "oh everyone's a winner!" like a lot of childrens sports and stuff do. It teaches an important lesson to give them an opportunity to win some and and to lose some cuz that's how life works.

This mom is so supportive and loving. No child meltdowns, no mad mothers, NOTHING! This girl was raised right.

This genuinely made me smile. Alane clearly cares a lot about Alessondra and how comfortable she is. She does her best to lift her child's confidence and looks out for her wellbeing whilst allowing her to compete. She seems very down to Earth. I wish more pageant moms were like her.

I agree. I fell like alot of those kids are forced. This girl seems like she wants to do this. And I love this natural thing!!! I want to see the actual beauty of these children not how much makeup they can wear!

I liked how this mother points out how hard and long her daughter worked on something. "This one is special it took 8 years to earn." Excellent tone about life and grit.

I love that she consoled her kid, then helped her build confidence. She understood that she was upset and was there for her, but she didn't let her kid doubt herself.

Honestly I approve of this mom more than others I’ve seen. She comforted her daughter by listing her accomplishments and kept the spirit of it’s not the end of the world

This is the first mom I’ve seen on this show that I actually semi- respect. She’s a mom- not a bestie. It’s still super problematic to teach your kid that it’s ok to judge people based on looks and fashion choices, but this little girl is more well adjusted than 99% of the moms in this show.

This mom is not a frugal mom. She’s a good mom, she doesn’t bother spending money for her daughter, she’s just teaching her good lessons and life skills. She’s teaching that she doesn’t need expensive clothes or makeup to look good, and the personality inside is more important than beauty. Great job, Alane! Alessondra would definitely have great life skills.

Too bad the mom sucks at make up...even natrual makeup can look way better than that if applied better...and the dress looked like it was made for adults not kids...so it kind of looked like a prom dress with a shorter hem to fit a child. It wasnt good looking at all...I think even if it was a ballgown style dress it would have looked better if it was actually made for a child(the torso and bust area was very distracting because it didnt fit right in the front it looked very loose and baggy instead of form fitting. I think the mom has the right idea with her rules and not making her daughter fake but I think she would have done better with a bit more skill in makeup and sewing.

J * M $9 for ANY item of clothing in 2019 IS frugal and she didn’t say it in a negative tone. She seemed proud of the fact that she uses her money for important things and charity as opposed to clothing. Plus, how do you know she’ll only wear that dress once? Exactly. I had to watch that over again I wasn't believing it the first time. The judges seemed jobless, uneducated women, who are so catty toward the kids.

This is the first mom that I actually like. She doesn't make her kid do anything, she is old enough in order for us to see that she actually wants to do this and it's not a mom making her 2 year old do something they don't want to. Plus he kid is well mannered, the mom is fun, etc. Congrats to them!

I loved the look she gave her daughter when the popper didn't work like 'oh well' 😉 and the girl finished up the routine like a champ. Another mom would have been floppin around all over the place

In general, the pageant world is strange to me, but this is a really good mom. Good for her for enjoying her children so much.

But judges didn't seem impressed. What do they expect exactly from these kids. They were not encouraging enough. Instead they were giving looks and being mean. I understand that they are judges but a little encouragement is never wasted. That mom was resourceful conservative and she did everything economically. So this paegent gives a wrong impression that only rich people can make it. I think paegents should not be just about beauty and looks. But instead they should give a strong message w And judges need to show that. For eg. Look at Priyanka Chopra . She is a pagent holder miss world but she is a woman of substance. Strong headed, straight forward and a matured woman who realised her responsibility towards society. These kind of paegents are giving wrong messages. This woman and her daughter were so genuine and true. And their approach towards life is so perfect

I love how this mom is actually teaching her daughter to save money in a good way, She even thrifted a whole dress for her which costs literally no money at all. She actually supported her in this career of modeling also, She isn't spoiling her with expensive dresses as other moms do. This mother is pure AMAZING and she obviously deserves a lot more love for how she raises her children even though she is cheap she is still showing her child AND teaching them money at the same time.

I’m not a usually a fan of beauty pageants for kids, but I really respect how this mom insists on keeping it about the child and not the glamor, and ultimately wants her daughter to have fun doing it whether she wins or loses. That’s what pageants are supposed to be; FUN! Not giving a kid body dysmorphia at age 3.

Hearing a pageant mom say "no big deal" is so rare, she's a great mom

It probably helps that the mom is smart enough to not blow thousands of dollars on dresses and tans and professional makeup for her kid. It's a lot easier to brush off a loss when the parent has the good sense to not invest an obscene amount of money into a silly beauty pageant.

One thing I love about the mom is that even though the popper didn’t go as planned… she still said it’s okay and that her routine was way better and cheered her on. She’s my favorite mother on this show

The fact that they were able to find such a beautiful dress under $10 is very impressive (and it really warms my heart that the mom made her daughter's slip out of her own wedding dress).

“We’re not going to win at any price; we have certain boundaries...” This mom is amazing! Other pageant moms need to take notes.

She is wonderful for teaching her daughter that she doesn’t have to be a fake person and that money is better invested in things other than outrageous dresses that hardly anyone can ACTUALLY afford. Smart Mom. Sweet daughter. You can tell this mom really loves her daughter and loves being a mom.

This is the only mother who teaches her daughter to love herself and gives her a good childhood and not just wear makeup, go to the salon , practice. She is so beautiful even with little make up and her mom is kind hearted, and give to the less fortunate

First mom on the show who shows who her daughter really is bravo she doesnt make her look like a doll.

Her mom is actually the only good mom I’ve seen in this show, she budgets with her preparation and is calm about her daughter’s mistakes I love it

Coco Caramel I used to to pageants when I was younger (I’ve since stopped, my last one was in 2016) and my mum was much like that. She never made me wear anything I didn’t want to wear, she let me pick my dress and she never let me wear things like fake nails or false eyelashes. She wasn’t competitive either. I won a few but the ones I didn’t win she always said the same thing “it doesn’t matter as long as you had fun” which I always did. Something I noticed, at least in the ones that I entered, was that the overly competitive people never seemed to win. The people with enthusiasm but not cockiness tended to do better. I’ve only ever witnessed a few times where this could not be said. Then again, I had never been in a glitz pageant because not only did I not want to, my mum wouldn’t let me enter those ones anyway.

The problem is parents forcing their kids to do these things. You can tell this little girl actually enjoys doing pageants and has fun and so her mother encourages her and helps her out with them. In a lot of cases, the kids were pushed into pageantry because the PARENTS want to win money and gloat about their “beautiful” children winning beauty pageants. You can ALWAYS tell when it’s something the kids want vs something the parents want. I’ve seen the same sort of parents in dance, and those kids were always the most miserable. It’s truly sad. Kids should get to choose their hobbies, not be forced into doing something so that the parents can exploit their children or live their failed dreams out on them.

I wish all pageant mom's were like this. It would be better, more positive, and more healthy for the children.

The ending when she was helping her feel better about the popper is just so sweet. She didn't blame her or get mad with her. She turned it into a positive. Amazing.

I actually love this mom!! She’s really supportive of her babies and the encouragement she gives is just amazing!!! She’s so down to earth and I’d love to be her friend cause she’s a stellar mommy 💜💜💜

This is the only Todlers and Tiaras episode that made me smile. She wasn’t spoilt. The Mum wasn’t pushy and rude. They are like a normal family who likes to do pageants as a hobby and not for money like other contestants.

This is how pageant moms should be. Caring, seeing it as a hobby, no overwhelming amounts of makeup, encouraging, and not willing to spend ungodly amounts of money for a pageant. This mom does it for her KID. She’s there for FUN.

This is the most caring and well behaved people I’ve ever seen in this show. It’s amazing. Credits to them.

The mom gives me major Dolly Parton vibes which is the greatest compliment anyone could ever receive

I cannot help but wonder if the fact that this woman had to wait for longer than most to become a mother has made her all the more grateful for her daughters. She's the only non-abusive, supportive peagent mother that I have come across and I'm genuinely proud of her for treating her baby girls as human beings, not as commodities born to give them fame and notoriety.
