As a general artist and solo game developer as well, I respect my own work too much to replace any of it with ai. I'm making games to express myself, not to express a mush of someone else's ideas. Also I respect my potential players as I respect myself, meaning I don't want the message to be this automatic mush. I want it to be said by myself, otherwise I feel like I'm not doing anything and the work is not even mine and the ideas are not mine as well. I feel the same about other people. It's not your work and I don't consider you an artist. When someone speaks to me I expect them not to use any prerecorded messages. I expect them to use their brain to tell me something. The same I expect from art. If it doesn't have that - it's garbage tier.

I'm puzzled if a business uses AI art, is that breaking copyright laws because the business owned can't own AI art, something like how a monkey took a picture using a mans camera, the guy tried to claim copyright, expect that the monkey that was smiling owned the copyright.

thats the trick they CAN own AI art, the key is the law says you cant own ai art generated from works you DONT own, so what they can do and ARE doing now is they hire artists and make them sign contracts saying the company owns the art then train the AI on THAT art, so anything it generates IS owned.

For AI in general, the jobs will just evolve to create new types of roles. People are kind of freaking out about this technology, but in reality, this has been happening for decades. When Photoshop came out, artists everywhere were panicking. But Adobe's technology didn't make artists obsolete. Instead, it created "digital artists" The same can be said for Frontend and Backend Frameworks, Web and App Makers, etc. These tools make our current jobs a lot faster, and create new types of jobs in the near future. We'll likely see a lot more people specializing in "AI Cleanup / Refinement / Stylize" And even "AI Prompt Generator" will be a job title. And at the end of the day, these types of tools are great for prototyping and quick projects, but you still need ACTUAL HUMANS who ACTUALLY KNOW "how the sausage is made", because those are the people that have to build the architecture and engineer the project for optimization, customization, scale and re-usability.

3D models generated with this technique are equivalent in many ways to models generated through photogrammetry. It's not exactly the same, but it's the same general concept of multi-view synthesis and fusion. They're just as hard to work with as photogrammetry models/captures - you have to retopologize, rebake, segment into pieces, animate, and all the other hard work to make the model performant. It's a great starting point, but you still have to know 3D artist skills to make the output usable.

Most of the lip sync to translation language software I have seen and can afford is limited to having your model looking straight forward minimum head movement, low background sound and single character talking. When and if it improves to the point of having two, three, or more models having a conversation facing each other as they move, turn their heads while they walk, run, etc with background sounds created without experience, then animators will need to be redefined.

Yes Ai can either be used as a tool to speed up your creative process and bring your visions to life.. Or to do it for you with no creative input. And destroy jobs.... But it doesnt have to be the latter.. You need to evolve with it. Who wants to spend 36 hours on a 12 minute animation??? I know i dont.. i have some ideas and i want to express my thoughts on certain things in certain ways.. AI and certain types of software will allow me to do that without spending so much time.. plus im new at this so havent got lots of time to learn it all. For those who are panicking... maybe have a think about how to make something that could bring true value to people. Especially those who are new to this and dont know where to begin, dont have the time to learn and want particular things.. For example making something that will enable people to create fast. Can you make lots of models with certain movements that people can then edit and make there own? While providing an instant or near instant Q&A formum where people can get answers off professionals.. Can you do tutorials for people to learn that fits the budget of moden people who are struggling? Can you think outside of the box to come up with the fastest way to create and bring to life a vision someone has.. whilst not excluding people that cant really use technology? Can you accept a lower amount of money to offer it to a wider audience (think of poundland concept) the more people wanting to share just a little money for whatever you are sharing the more money you get. As a society we need to move from a purely greed minset that excludes certain people from being able to create.. and doesnt bring true value to people... To a more united, true value based exchange. I really believe if someone creates to bring true value to people and to help others create and bring their visions to life you will be supported. So stop worrying that AI is going to take your job, evolve with it. Utilise the gifts and opportunities. It might be uncomfortable but its a chance to grow.. its pushing you to open your mind and help each other in different ways.

I mean in about a year things will have advanced to the point where people should start biting their nails, lol, but for now the technology is in its infancy so current industries are still OK. In my opinion, what's happening with AI is basically the goal every creator that sees the big picture would ever want to get to. Over the years we've accelerated development much like manually writing copies of documents in the past became obsolete when the printing press came about... and even MORE obsolete when typing became digital and you could just copy infinitely. So that goal I mentioned before for every creator is the ability to create at the speed of thought. Many times we get struck with creativity but we just don't have the means to materialize it before it fades from our minds completely. Now with AI that elusive goal is within reach. We're gonna have so much content to look through that we'll spend more time browsing through it than watching it, lol. Or perhaps with the help of AI it'll become even faster to find it... we will see.

Showing memes and talking about how stunning something is doesn't hide the fact that you're presenting a low-poly model with limited animation capabilities. In my opinion, for asset creation, machine learning might become an invaluable tool, offering worlds that appear more lived-in. However, for 'stunning animations,' you might need more creative talent than just the ability to generate prompts. Just so you know, I'm not anti-technologist. I use ChatGPT to soften my rude comments. Also, I call them Chagi instead of AI or ChatGPT

I believe 3d Artists will not be replaced yet; I've tried seeing how it works and tested it. The meshes are really bad, and you end up having to re-model or re-topo, which you could spend time making the model from scratch. I will, however, Say for now it could be used as background props for rendering. However a background prop that has shitty optimization and bad topology for games? No, you want the closer and more important objects to be highly detailed, not the ones in the back if this is for a game and neither tax your erngine. If this is for 3D printing, the meshes need serious fixing, and tbh again, it would, at this time of the tech, be more beneficial to re-do it yourself. Once you get proficient with 3D modelling and making, let's say, Super Mario would take you easily less than a full day. The texturing and UV unwrapping you could get done on that day also if its simple colors and stylized. In a few years perhaps AI might take over who knows, but that's a bit in the future, and if you enjoy creating, then dont give up modelling. AI will probably just be a tool to quicken the process in the future. I don't like AI either, but it's an extra tool to put in your toolkit for perhaps later.

I love AI art - it helps me get inspired and gives me ideas to model. For example, that model of Mario you downloaded - the texture was complete 💩. Import it into Substance Painter, or 3D Coat, and give a fresh paint job -- maybe clean the mesh up a bit.

@@PixiiBomb for how long? People don't understand that we are training a machine to behave like a human, and then better than a human. We will reach a point where an A.I. will be trained to generate the prompts better than a human based on the work already done. Do you understand that? It will learn by seeing what someone requested, seeing what prompt that another person created and then seeing what the result was and what the artist created with that, and then will learn to do all that process in seconds. WE ARE CREATING HUMANS THAT ARE SMARTER, FASTER AND DON'T GET TIRED. There is literally no work that you can't train a "better human" to do that a normal human can learn.

Eh looks barely good enough to generate a base mesh for me to sculpt on and there's already software out there that does a better job at that. My texturing work is not of a very high level outside of stylised art, but it's far superior than what is being showcased here. I don't feel threatened at all. What I think is more likely if this sees improvement is that background assets will be generated like this, but actual important assets, and especially hero assets will still be man made.

I think instead of fighting against ai , it is our responsibility as artists to keep up with technology , study ai , but keep evolving passionately as treditional artist and passing this mother nature gifted skill to next generation to generation🫡. And one more thing, this ain't ai generated😂
