    It's certainly going to be a wait and see thing but I can't imagine Nokta delaying the release for so long, unless they had to get it right. Releasing it this late in the season is a deal breaker for many of us in the north, so I'm pretty sure the delay was not a MAXIMIZE profit decision!

    People think with multiple frequencies simultaneously that fixed single frequency detectors are obsolete ,,I'm running an old mine lab musketeer advantage analog machine running at 5 kilohertz pulling out 8" silver dimes and even pulling out deep clad nickels on a routine basis in iron infested sites,, Most people don't realize how really good the analog machines are ,, Because today's generation of metal detectorists are spoiled with today's detectors having a meter with VDI numbers and bells and whistles to look at,,, I grew up in the analog age of metal detectors and more times than not they perform far better than most digital machines out there,, The thing with analog machines is that they have one single tone and you have to learn to listen to how that tone reacts to different targets,,

  • @paulwarrenmetaldetecting

    Spot on Thomas I grew up using an analogue machine, there's some fantastic analogue detectors out there with seriously good performance, 99.9% of the time I search in all metal with zero discrimination, I have no interest in VDI numbers, you've got to dig the trash to find the treasure, if you hang on what the VDI is telling you then you're going to leave a lot of good targets in the ground, you have to learn your detectors language, study it and understand all it's little idiosyncratic quirks, when you master all this then things get very interesting, if you think the latest tech is going to find you loads more stuff when you aren't prepared to put the time and learning into it then you are going to end up disappointed, detecting is an art form, many aren't aware of this because they're to busy arguing about what the best machine is - there isn't a best

    You've nailed. It's amazing how many fanboys from different brands believe that their favorite manufacturer has found the holy grail of detectors. And in the end what counts is that you know your machine and it is the appropriate one for the terrain in which you find yourself. I was very happy with my Simplex until I learned about the legislation in my country and I can only detect without having problems on the beach. And for these highly mineralized beaches, it is necessary to have a simultaneous multi-frequency. Since I acquired my Equinox 600 my findings have increased in quality and quantity and I don't need another machine because for me it is efficient enough in my field. I would only take a step forward with a CTX but I don't need other models with similar features to the ones I already have unless the machine breaks down severely.

  • @PaystreakSuperfreak

    @PaystreakSuperfreak

    The Equinox is so much better in saltwater and wet soils than the Simplex by far!! Multi frequency has a huge advantage over any single frequency machine in saltwater. And the Simplex does not have an adjustable recovery speed.

  • @jorgedifficile5765

    @jorgedifficile5765

    @@PaystreakSuperfreak And many other things that are fundamental. How to understand that a lower recovery speed allows to have greater depth with the same sensitivity. Also other advanced settings such as the 50 tones (I will not return to the 5 tones), the iron bias F2 ... It is the advanced settings that make the difference and if we take into account that in detection, 60% of the success lies in being in the right place and 40% in having an efficient machine, because perhaps for these reasons we should not fall for the hype.

    CTX is a whole different machine. I have 1000s of hours on mine(in my avatar photo.) You can actually see multiple targets on your screen if they are under your coil at the same time and where they fall on the feco scale. The CTX is a whole different animal but has a big learning curve.

    Some times a 'Jack of all Trades' machine can end up being a master of none. For me, I'd sooner have a dedicated SMF machine of the highest order, and thus do away with multi-tasking. Similarly, I'd prefer an exceptionally fine right up to date fixed kHz SF machine, but I fully understand that the huge majority of people will utterly disagree with me. Faffing about with multi-settings and repetative fine tuning via repetative button pushing, especially in the cold and wet, bores me. Ease of use at the highest level does not.

    Hey Jeremy, thanks again for all your videos. Question; what are you doing to handle EMI in the SMF programs, or are you just listening to the chatter and the good targets pop through? Many of my old sites are near big main overhead power lines and the Deus 2 isn’t happy there at all.. add to that, the relics left in these places are deep, measured 12-14” with pinpointer. I’ve been detecting since 1973, a big Deus fan in the past, but I’m frustrated and honestly disappointed this thing can’t knock out EMI better. CTX 3030 and lesser degree, explorers work great and good in that order. While they were copying SMF, I wish they copied the 3030 abilities to cancel EMI, thanks buddy, keep on digging

    I will say multi frequency in the long run hinders your ability to as a human to communicate with your detector. Lock in a frequency and you "Know" what the detector detects. With this information in a locked in frequency you can and will gather information more effectively therefore allowing you to become a min maxer with your detector. A true detectorist evaluates each and every site every time and then chooses a frequency. The natural world throws so many variables at you whether it be weather, emi, soil etc. Multi frequency is a lazy man's site evaluator. Don't buy a product based on this feature especially if it is its primary advertising point.
