With your permission, I would like to play your video at my Aunt and Godmother's funeral in Connecticut in July. Aunt Marge died at just short of age 96, and was a life-long, strong believer. I also have reached out to Rhoda Grace for her permission to use her vocals, and she graciously has agreed. It seems to me your video images celebrate Christian hope, while the hymn lyrics challenge us to consider our own faith--to me, a fitting ending to a Christian funeral. To last drop of blood. To love each other like we love ourselves. by walking as he does can we walk the narrow path to heaven that few will find.

It is rare to hear the original lyrics. Usually one sees the Carter family version.

The original song doesn't have the "Lord" in the chorus. Also, not really sure, but I heard the original had a different tune?

The original 1927 recording did have the word Lord in it. And it has a somewhat different yet very similar tune. That is if the Carter family group is the original. Edit: you are right the 1907 does not have Lord in it but the reworked in 1927 by The Carter family does. Although it was written as a Christian hymn even in 1907.

There's a message in the song and that's the point. The circle will be broken if you don't give your life to Jesus. Everyone will be with Jesus who trusts in him for salvation. Please read the book of John. How dreadfu. Will it be if we are with Jesus in eternity and some of our family is not there? Its your decision. Choose wisely in whom you believe.

i too am not a religious person and have no faith in there been a saviour that will save us. i do however believe that your actions whilst alive enable your memory to go on once you die and therefore the circle will not be broken as your name and memory ives on in others once you have gone and your family link continues then the circle through life is not unbroken. I do think there are higher forces at work and when you die there is something else, but religion is not something i buy into.

Evil myths perpetuate evil. Death is final and calling evil "love' will not endow people with immortality. You people need to grow up intellectually and be honest with yourself.
