No they won't. This is mainly just Turki living out his dreams, which is for the best imo. The UFC model is an awful monopoly. Also have you made a video on Turki's health which he/they hint at? Something tells me this is a dying man living his best life leaving behind a legacy?

@nahnotatall4291 Tyranny is always rosie at the start. That's the hook. Personally I'd be mindful of any consolidation of power and/or attempt to do so. Yes, Saudi is good for boxing at this point, but hopefully it does not hoover up all of boxing. A great card in the US last weekend reminds us why not.

I said on a Gman video that their current way of doing things is unsustainable long term and will likely plateau in 5-10 years. So buying out the belt organisations, broadcasters and promoters would kind of make sense, as then they control the entire lot and don't have to share any of the profits.

Yes and its bad. We have to start thinking about where the money they are using to pay for these events is coming from, its coming from corruption and human right abuses. A monopoly in boxing will be very bad. Think about Don King and his monopoly over the heavyweight championship he had in the past. If you were a fighter you couldn't avoid him. The Saudis could become like that.

I hope the fighters realize that once the Saudi's control the whole sport ala the UFC they won't need to offer massive paydays because the fighters won't have many other options. This model is good for the fans but not as good for the fighters imo.

I think today in 2024- boxing is definitely something that can be acquired. In a sense, the Saudis are already controlling the major boxing players like Hearn, Warren & Arum, amongst others. So, in essence, the sport of boxing is defacto already theirs.

This is a very unique topic from a psychology perspective! Yes the Saudis coming in has been ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE, but long term im not sure, we as human beings often prefer the chase to the catch. Everyone wants a Rolex, but if you have 15/20 rolex the novelty wears off VERY quickly, and you can't appreciate any single one .

I've been saying this for the longest time. It's a massive project that goes beyond boxing. They are building infrastructure to sustain them as a centre of entertainment and tourism. Maybe the oil is drying up and they wanna have in place something that will keep them relevant on the world stage

No, they don’t need to. They have more money than sense and frankly don’t need to invest money buying promo companies to run when their funding them for what they want. Their doing much better putting the money in boxing than the football. Nobody gives a damn about the Saudi Pro League but they’ve got so much more good press for their involvement in boxing

In a word, YES Money talks and they've got more Gift of the Gab than all these boxing promoters and franchises put together.....maybe that's why Warren and Hearn are so deferential to them because they're hoping they'll be spared the guillotine 😂😂😂...and not knowing that in the end they'll be consumed themselves and just be waiting tables if they hang around😂. In all seriousness, because all these boxing people love money so much (which is why certain fights that should happen rarely do in the time frame they should, and the belts, fir what their worth, get held up when certain fighters should be forced to fight their most feared opponent or get stripped), it'll be that love of it that could become the basis of their demise. The only hope they've got is thst the Daudis choose not to do a complete takeover, or they get bored and walk off with their Trillions....but the ball is firmly in their court👍🏾

In most cases, monopolies are usually not a good thing. Nevertheless, the present day situation with all these boxing organizations and their rediculous rules is ruining the sport. To me the answer would be as to what the Saudis intend to do with boxing. What is their detailed vision? Clean up and improve the sport or to make it worse? So far, the Saudis are doing a great job. Will that continue?

With the money the Saudis have, Im not sure why they would need to buy out a PBC or a Queensbury. When PBC is offering you $800k and Riyadh promotions are offering $5m. I'm not sure why anyone would care about what umbrella the fight is fought under. Having said that, surely fish eyes at his old age wouldn't mind selling off Queensbury but I don't see why that's necessary for the Saudis.

Don’t think it can ever be as bad as ufc. In ufc the fighters are never allowed the be bigger than the ufc brand. I don’t see that being the case in boxing. Boxing is a bit too far gone to have complete control like that

If the Saudis bring out an undisputed belt, then that trumps all of the ABC titles and outranks them. After that people will want to fight for that single belt and be less interested in the other trinkets. As for the promoters, they may decide to sign fighters themselves and that would render both promotional outfits as well as the sanctioning bodies irrelevant.
